Golfing Plans this weekend 7th & 8th Dec

2 under 68 today. Played very nicely indeed from 5 onwards, v happy

Absolutely zero help from my partner until his 5 net 4 on 17 got us back to all square. According to him, it was only this that saved us £5 for the match.

Shot a 73 round the Dukes today.

Target golf on the greens.

Won our 4 ball better ball winter league match 2 and 1. Another one tomorrow which we need to win to have a chance of getting through the group. So far won two lost one. Putter was red hot, though the fact the greens were the best I have seen them at this time of the year helped. Didn't even need to push down any spike marks with my ball.

It's the range for me - third session of the weekend (Ballumbie on Friday night, St Andrews Links yesterday) - had planned to play nine holes this afternoon but discovered yesterday that I've got a football match to photograph at lunchtime today.

Got a game yesterday after all, Nairn had missed all the snow, but had the temp drop so was on winter greens.

Had a laugh, hit some good shots and bad.

A nice wee walk and round in 2 and a bit hours.

Even in the wind & rain off winter tees and fairway mats, Golf still rocks!!

8 over for 12 holes today, not too shabby for me.

Last Medal of the year for me at Dunbar yesterday. With 3 double bogies, over the wall and on the beach, made sure I was going to struggle. But I finished with 6 pars on the bounce into a stiff breeze for 78 blows net 73 CSS 72.........buffer.:)

I had a few holes this morning , 1st time for nearly a month , enjoyed the walk and see the new alterations to the course , managed the odd par , roll on the summer .......................EYG

Medal today, 8 over front 9 then 2 over for the back 9! Left my swing in bed this morning as the thing I took round with me was a lunge! Hit 4 decent shots and the rest just garbage but if it wasn't for my putter today would have been a cricket score.

Lost in the group stage of the winter league but through to the knockout with 3 wins and loss

It was a bit of a rewind to the summer for me, shot a gross 80 with two trebles and a double

Someone else found some form and came joint first in the roll up with 36 points including no points thanks to an ugly double on 17. Three x 3 putts and two duffed chips and so it could have been so much better. Made three up and downs from tricky spots on the back nine so the short game still a lottery. Several wild drives too but on the plus side many well strike shots and much to be pleased about. Just need to keep it going as Hawkeye's partner in the winter knockout next Saturday and the last competition of 2013 on Sunday

final round of the weekend resulted in 36 points, no lost balls for 54 holes now but had a blob on the card, could have been so much better.

Got home to an invite to play Beau desert on Tuesday (£20) so that's my next game.

Can everyone who posted on here report back on how they got on if they did play , thanks ..................EYG

Played first scramble and our 4-ball managed 3rd place with a gross -1 (& h/cap of 3/4 of the combined team got us the placing)

A really fun format but wouldn't want to play it too often, a lot of laughs & going round in a smidge under 5 hours it was a long day. It was mostly a fun event but there is clearly a strategy to it with 4 tees shots counting pp & admit I felt some pressure as I had to deliver a tee shot on the last

Most wont be interested but the heat was brutal at 35 degrees and really humid, really sapping the energy & everyone's shots were going shorter and shorter has the round went on

Came within a rotation of an albatross on our driveable 8th hole! Stood on the tee waiting for the green to clear when the group behind appeared so of course then I'm thinking "now I've gotta hit this well". Green clears and I take aim at the left side of the green (everything slopes to the right) and I just middle it, it lands just short of the green couple of bounces then runs up to 3 inches from the cup, how and why it stopped there I'll never know normally you can't get a ball to stop above the hole on that green but for some reason.... To top it off we were playing behind the pro, the incoming, outgoing captains and a past captain playing the captains drive in comp who witnessed my near miss!

Everything else was a mixed bag but that was the obvious highlight! (Oh and getting drawn out with a new member who turned out to be Holty)
