Golf targets for 2012

Well to be honest after doing this to my shoulder in September I will be happy to be playing again by the end of the summer, let alone shooting in the 70's

Apparently the collar bone is meant to be connected at that joint not sat in the air.
Been told it could be anther 6 months until it will be strong enough to play golf.

Dont worry mate you will do it. Just back to golf myself this year 3/4 years off. 3 discs' gone in neck, plus a shoulder that keeps popping out. So if I can do it so can you.

Aims this year. Get my handicap again (just joined a club) and get a full 18 in without a handful of Tramadol.

I have absolutley NO targets for this coming year!

Not a one!

I put myself under all sorts of pressure last year to play well and kind of ruined my golf. This year I plan on bedding in my swing changes and enjoying my golf. If my handicap falls as a result, bonus, if not, so what.

Hi mate, looks like you have the same injury as me. Have you dislocated your AC joint? If so, in time you will be fine. I done mine a couple of years before taking p golf and it hasn't hindered me one bit. Not nice at the time and hurt like a b.. for awhile but will heal up nicely and you will never know you done it, apart from the silly lump that sticks up from your shoulder!

Get down to single figures

then if I manage to do that perhaps qualify for the Trilby Tour National Final, or play just 1 round to scratch in competition.

3 targets/milestones:

Get into cat 3 (19 - 14) fairly early in season
Get to 18 H/C by mid season
target final H/C for 2012 is 16.

If I can carry a bit of form through the winter these should be achievable as I have had some rounds in the low 80's recently but lets see how it all goes as it is all different with a card in your hand :)

Get to a few forum meets... Im in the one at Woburn so hope to do a few more.

Handicap cut - well yes but Im not setting myself targets/deadlines, my long term aim is single figs but I have just recently broken 80 so I need to score that in a few comps and the h/cap will look after itself.

Play in more comps - I get full playing rights at 3 clubs so need to get incolved in the comps at more of them, gonna aim to do 6 a month.

To develop a swing that I can rely on, rather than hoping it'll hold up.

No handicap targets. If I achieve the first one the hc will sort itself out.

Main one for me is still to stay injury free. If the knee continues to hold up then the years goals are:

1) return to cat 1 hcap
2) Shoot a round in the 60s
3) play at least 10 new courses
4) go through a maximum of 3 new putters!!!!

Nothing set in stone target wise but want to reduce handicap, would like to get down to 20 but it will only be there to aim at. As others have said just to enjoy the game really. Playing tomorrow which will meet this years target of playing on average of once a week. I missed a big chunk of the summer so would like to average 1.5 rounds a week also giving me alittle extra value for money! Also plan on taking a few more lessons to get me on the right track. That's it really!! Oh and to make at least one forum meet!

My main one is try get down from 22 to 18.

Also wouldn't mind getting away on a long weekend abroad golfing and play a couple of well known courses in the uk.

Oh and most of all! Have fun! :)

Would like to get down to 20 by the end of the year, that would be a nice touch.

Also plan on playing 2 courses in Cairo at some point, just waiting for things to calm down. Would like to play in Dubai as well.

I would love a round of sub 90 (current PB is 92) which would also help with the handicap cuts.

Most importantly, carry on with the free-spirited mindset, allowing myself bad shots without beating myself up over them.

Get down to and stay at around 7 or 8
Win something
Get to a couple of forum gigs.

If I dont achieve anythin other than the forum meets so be it I have far more important things in my life at the minute and I think golf could be taking a slightly lower pegging on the priority list.

the green mostly

really going to try hard to get down to single figures, probably book a set of lessons to help

Someone upstairs is trying to stop me getting good at this game I think.... Worked hard a few years ago and got down to 5, then fooked my knee up playing football and pretty much stopped playing as I lost interest after I had the operation on it.

Only played a handful of times in 3 years and decided to join the club at the town I had just moved to in summer 2010. Did a bit of practicing put my 3 cards in and got a 10 handicap. Got my head down to some practice and had some lessons at the end of the year and was playing fantastic during the winter, really thought I could head back towards 5 again. Then it kicked off in Libya so spent this summer in Italy sending planes to bomb them. Got back had a couple of rounds and played well then did that to my shoulder......

Is someone trying to tell me I should not be playing this game????????
