Golf targets for 2012

With reference to my post at #14 the specialist has now discharged me from his care and said it should not be too long until I am playing again.....:whoo:

handicap of 5 here we come again baby. I will get you back after all these years and injuries....:fore:

My targets for 2012 are to get my handicap down from 17 to 14.
Play in at least 3 away open competitions, managed 2 this year.
Continue with some lessons and work on drills given !!

The main one is to go out and enjoy the gowf without putting pressure on myself and the stats will improve along with the handicap dropping.

Best of luck to everyone on their targets for next year.

Finally realised the trick is to get up and down.

So I'm going to declare it here that 2012 for me will be the year of the 'up and down'.

As for targets - get in the hole please my little friend

My target for 2012 will probably change during next year, 2012 is gonna be a big year for me personally as I'm being made redundant and will have to a) find another job, b) decide what to retrain as .... Either one will have some effect on my golf.

If everything goes well then I'll try and knock 2 off my handicap (more realistic than me getting to cat1), I'd also like to win a board comp on my own (won the Daily Mail comp this season so have a board now).

Goals for next season are
1. Lose some weight to help with swing change, initial target is a couple of stone by mid march (hamilton fp spain trip ) and hopefully a third by early may ( family trip to orlando ).

2. After reading the "how many rounds thread" I want to double the amount of golf i play, currently about 30 - 35 per year.

3. Been chasing the single digit for a couple of seasons now, finished year on 9.5 exact. If i achieve either of 1 or 2 then i think 3 will happen, if can do both 1 and 2 then 3 will happen.

Hope everyone gets their goals and have a great 2012.
