My dads mate has brought me some golf shoes as i am ready for some new ones.. they have only been worn once and are nearly new spanking.. however he is a size 11 and i am 9.5/10 which is quite a noticeable difference

They are swanky and quite expensive so wudnt mind using them dont suppose anybody has or got any tips how i could make em fit maybe by putting something in the end like cotton wool? anybody done this before or anything else?

Tried the 2 pair of socks and still slightly too big?

Try putting some insoles in them. Although this only pushes your feet upwards it means that they fit tighter around your feet so that they dont slide up or down the shoe.

Any improvement?

you can, or could, get heel liners, though whether these could take up 1.5 - 2 cm I doubt, but you could also block the toe end.

just how comfortable the resultant shoe would be . . .

Best bet is to ebay them and buy something that fits. 4 hours on a golf course in shoes that don't fit is going to be a long time. Probably won't help your golf either.

agreed, ill fitting golfing equipment in any department will do nothing to help your game.
