I think that's probably what it is. It's very stiff leather, and I have quite wide feet, so I'm thinking there's a balance I can't quite get right, like my foot can't get far enough into the shoe due to the width so I'm pressed up against the back or something odd like that. They're not obviously too small, they feel fine at first but after about 10, 20 minutes I'm like nope, here we go again. They'd probably be fine in a hot country using a buggy, but as you know I walk and carry so when my foot is agony after 4 holes it ain't fun.Might just be a sizing issue with that design. Sometimes with trainers I really want I have to either get them wide enough but slightly too long, or the right length but slightly too narrow - guess my feet are quite wide. Right length but too narrow is usually the mistake and they can be a bit sore after a lot of walking.
I realise I said heel in my earlier post - the blister is on the back of my achilles, it's the top of the back that rubs
