New set of irons, new driver and now I'm looking for a three wood to replace one I've only had for five months and can't trust. If this weather doesn't brighten up soon I'll be bankrupt.
Why don't our greenkeepers work on levelling some of the tees, that desperately need this doing, during the winter?
What’s the weather been like?
You also can’t do proper ground works on saturated ground.I'd imagine most golf clubs are struggling to cover the costs of staff wages right now.... Important to remember that at this time of year, we'd all love to see our clubs carrying out winter maintenance programmes while the courses are quiet but they quite simply might not have the funds to do the work.
Surely the cost of tee levelling is mainly labour and the green keeping wages have to be paid anyway? I share Crazyface's pain. At our place, they shove us onto some temporary tees and do sweet fanny adams to improve the permanent ones. At the same time, on the permanent ones still in use, they leave the markers in the same spot for weeks which makes a right old mess. The proprietor is a bit of a bonehead who regards the mildest questioning of the system as a personal criticism. A buddy who has done much to help organise events was told something along the lines of "if you don't like it, buy your own effing golf course!"I'd imagine most golf clubs are struggling to cover the costs of staff wages right now.... Important to remember that at this time of year, we'd all love to see our clubs carrying out winter maintenance programmes while the courses are quiet but they quite simply might not have the funds to do the work.
