This discussion started around medical certs for trolley use, not buggies. Lots more people fall into that category.

We have several Premier League footballers that the club won’t let them walk.

They use buggies to play or they would be stopped from playing at all with this policy.

Anyone can use one at ours except when conditions are wet then it’s Drs note only.

We occasionally get Hull City footballers who always seem to use a buggy. We do have Hull KR rugby league players as members. They walk and tend to carry all year.

On buggies…my track is not conducive to use of buggies. We have no large four-wheelers for hire and only a very few members use the smaller type.

On trolleys…with ‘Please consider using a lighter weight pull trolley or maybe carrying to help protect your course’ in place many days at the moment, I’m thinking at least half of us are carrying - and we are typical age profile for a club.

Getting ready to go to the range today couldn’t find my alignment sticks anywhere, they’re usually kept in my bag but nowhere to be found at all in the house despite looking high and low.

Thought Sod it , so I popped to AG as it’s on the way to Pine Ridge from where I live and bought a new set for a tenner no issues with that. Mrs M then msgs me after I get to the range asking why I’d left my alignment sticks in the Mini!. I’d forgotten I took the little car for a spin during my last practice session and had to take them out the bag to fit it in the car! Oh well now I have 2 sets

I find that I don't feel as "connected" to the round if I'm in a buggy - have used one abroad when it's roasting but when I used one in the UK, just couldn't get into the round, as it was just 'hit & drive'

So a Month or two ago i posted about how our Club does paper vouchers for the club shop only that only last 6 months.
It seems our club is now moving forward to the digital age as I have had this today.

The new system removes the need for paper vouchers to be printed. Instead, vouchers will be emailed directly to competition winners.

As with the current system, vouchers will remain valid for six months from the date of issue and will automatically expire once this period has passed.

The trial of this new system will begin with immediate effect and, if successful, we hope to permanently adopt it from 1st April 2026.

Can they not just add the winnings to the winners shop account- or don’t the dinosaurs have this sort of thing yet?

Stresses me out. There is only one reason why there is a six month span on the vouchers and that is because when they expire the club pro gains by pocketing the money that has not been spent.
I think next season may well only enter comps by putting in a supplementary card.

That the pro pockets the value of the voucher if it isn’t redeemed seems a big no-no.

My place simply puts any winnings straight into a member’s club shop account…I’m thinking that from an accountancy perspective that is possibly better…though I’m no accountant. That aside the club runs the shop and owns the stock so it’s simply moving money from one club pot to another.

If they said all vouchers not spent in six months goes to captains charity I suppose most folk wouldn’t mind. But they know exactly why and where it goes.
