Golf Random Irritations

Is, or was, WADA testing rife in golf? I thought it was pretty slack when it came to golf, certainly before it went into the Olympics.
You could be right but it’s still there to be used had someone wanted to accuse him. I stand by the point that accusing anyone of using any form of drug or PED needs better evidence than what’s been present here.

I think anyone wanting to put their head out of the bunker, within the game, and take a pot shot / accusation at the golden goose of golf at that time would have been a very bold person indeed.

Just noticed this is page 666.

My random annoyance today is the clubs new behaviour policy.....which when you go into the clubs site to book a tee time you get this huge page of rules that you then have to scroll to the end of and either "agree to all the above" before you can make a tee time....or " don't agree to the above" and you can't make any tee times.

A couple rules if enforced would throw me out on my ear in......well.....now. My making this post breaks one of the rules. I'm not allowed to post anything complaining about the club or other members or employees on social media. Another is no swearing inside the clubhouse or on the course. I'm doomed.

Have there been recent incidents that triggered bringing this in?

Assume the agreeing is just a one off and you won’t have to do this every time?

No idea of any incidents.....but I don't get any gossip. I've just made a bit of fuss on one of the rollup Whatsapp groups about it.....the club must be covering themselves for future issues I would think. But.....as I posted on the Whatsapp group a little while ago, I joined a golf club not the secret service. I will use my social media from home however I want to. If I want to complain about something uselessly on this site for instance (which I'm doing) it's not up to the club to deal with.

Yes....it pops up every time you try to get a tee time. A number of people are whining complaining about it. Definitely me.

More than a random irritation or 2 today more like an outright anger fest!

I typed it all out and deleted what I was going to write. But in short middle age, sexist, chauvinistic idiots that still portray golf as an elitist men’s only sport where women should be kept in the bedroom or kitchen. Today is the first time I’ve ever lost my temper on a golf course due comments made by male members of the club we were playing at and the way they behaved toward the group I was playing in which consisted of myself, Mrs M, her work colleague and her colleagues husband.

Weirdly though I played really well 🤣

Did you check if they had a waiting list to join or crossing that one off the list? 😂

No swearing on the course 😳. Good luck policing that 🤣

I hate that “dinosaur” attitude that still exists in some people.
I’ve never lost my rag like that on a course but 7 holes in and hearing it with them chasing behind us despite us waiting on every shot pushed me over the edge.

Lovely course but to far out of the way to ever make my list of somewhere I would go weekly. I love a joke but in this one I’ve lost my sense of humour! Hearing comments like women don’t belong on a golf course, good job they look good especially when putting the tee in or what else is the point bringing them out here!

There were other things that occurred as well but after a word with them they disappeared after 9 holes, Fortunately the other fella in our group is a Club Pro at another course down the Hampshire coast and you can imagine the chat he had in the pro shop post round so it’s being dealt with.

Good for you to making your displeasure known - too many suffer in silence so the perpetrators get away with it.

Might just be me but I find the plethora of "what's in the bag" articles and videos to be massively irritating and a complete waste of effort....and I don't even look at them.
I've no interest in what Tommy had in his bag last week as it bears less than 0% resemblance to what is, and whatever will be, in my bag.....
Every Sunday/Monday the YouTubers and online sites list all these exotic shafts in ridiculous flexes as if it's supposed to help us, the poor, impoverished average golfer...
I'm sure some must get a kick from it but it's a waste of resources as far as I'm concerned
