We have divisions for our main medal, stableford and bogey comps. The monthly medal has 4 divisions.Nail on the head , I think.
Also, I think that there is an element of embarrassment here. Those north of twenty are quite likely to really big blow ups. Hamlet moments etc.
Being able to pick up for a blob can save that awful time when all are waiting for you to possibly get out of the bunker, or find your direction to the green.

Seems an understandable thinking to me
It’s always struck me as curious how some single figure guys seem to find it hard to understand this.

Saw a 5 ball on the front 9 today as we were going up the back. Laughing and joking about their ball being on the wrong green....yeah the one we'd just finished playing you moron. If you can't be arsed to shout fore stay at home or in the bar.

The group behind them had phoned the pro shop before I got chance, so I just phoned the police too just to be safe.

That Professional Golfers don't get fined money or shots for playing the game at a pace which, if you did it at your club, would get you, at least, a very lonely membership assuming they let you renew at the end of the year.
The Powers that be aren't interested and/or haven't got the balls to do it.....and it's making Professional golf not worth watching...and that will be to the detriment of Professional golf.

I heard, not sure if accurate, that Cantlay was told to speed up three times on Sunday. At what point do they actually do something other than say 'pretty please play faster?' He, and others, clearly take no notice.

They need to introduce a 'waggle counter'. More than 3 and it's a shot penalty. Cantlay was well in the teens! Him and Harman would never make a cut again.

I know TGL divides opinion on here, but the shot clock part works... and Cantlay didn't violate it once (in fact the only violation was Tiger which I found quite amusing)

I don't normally watch LIV golf, but I saw it was on ITV4 the other day so had a look.
Brooks Koepka was paired with someone who is notoriously slow, so he started off deliberately playing very, very slowly in order to get the pairing put on the clock after only a few holes, much to the detriment of his opponent's game. Masterstroke!
