Golf Random Irritations

Dress code chat is always an irritation on here.

Wear exactly what you like. Simple.

If you get turned away, that's a risk you've decided to take.

The club may or may not need your money, that's the risk they're taking.

Saw some folk turned away from a restaurant at the weekend. They didn't think dress codes were still appropriate. Sadly, the proprietor did, so off to 'Spoons for them. 😉

Sounds like the most sensible dress code I’ve ever come across.
Except it’s not really is it?

You can wear cargo shorts and joggers, but not combat trousers which are just a combination of the other two items 🤷

I can wear a Ralph Lauren polo, jumper, cap, but not jeans?

The only dress code rule should be one saying don’t wear shoes that will damage the course.

Also, If I buy a golf top and a pair of black jeans from (for example) John Lewis, can I wear both/neither/one but not the other?

Hey I couldn’t care less if you wore a crop top and denim hot pants.

I also couldn’t care less if a club has no dress code. As long as I’m playing with friendly people what they wear really doesn’t bother me.

My point was if there has to be a dress code followed that is the simplest, friendliest and easiest one to follow I’ve seen. But just my view of it

Now about those hot pants and crop top would they suit you 😂

But there's a reason you shouldn't....
Where can I purchase such a a pair of shoes. Comfortable and ventilated 👌
The only thing they would damage is your reputation. ;)

I am kidding, I actually wear a pair of Crocs at home as my slippers.
Good job my reputation is already in the gutter then 😂

I’m literally wearing a pair right now and will likely wander off to the gym in them shortly. Though I’ll have to change when I get there as they’re crap for deadlifting and squatting in 😂

You can wear “golf cargo shorts and joggers” as sold by golf manufacturer

Guess LT was right about common sense

My last (possibly) word on this: What is difficult about understanding no this, no that, and tuck it in?

Nothing difficult to understand about it I’m a fully functioning adult with good comprehension skills, but I could equally ask what is difficult about it not mattering!!!

Would you rather play golf with someone who has a backwards hat and their shirt is untucked, but is a decent person, follows every rule on the course including calling penalties on themselves, plays ready golf, well balanced as a person even when playing badly and offers you a beer at the end to thank you for spending time out on the course with them.

Or play with one somewhere shirt tucked in, hat on correctly, swears, throws clubs acts like a complete prat, is pretty ignorant and complains the whole way round. Bits it’s ok because they’re shirts tucked in!

Know what I would rather choose. Focusing on someone’s shirt or hat is such an inconsequential matter when there are far greater things to be concerned about on a golf course. As I’ve said before I don’t care what you wear when we play, I care what type of person you are and how you behave. Untucking a shirt or wearing a hat backwards doesn’t make you a bad person.

Perhaps we’ll get to play together at a future meet up work permitting for me! You can try and tell me how my game will improve by putting my hat the other way round until then I think we’ve killed the clothing debate 😁

I would want to play with the love child of both players - but only if they have the best of both parents :ROFLMAO:

Not tucking shirts in does look very slovenly, though.

On the other hard, it is very simple for gentleman to look both smart and casual on the golf course

View attachment 59151 you only need the tie for the clubhouse. Take it off to play golf.

But if it is very hot, some restrictions should be lifted

Top pic raises an interesting point though majority of women’s golf polos are designed to be worn untucked and don’t see anyone running round telling them to tuck themselves in 🤷🏻

Hugely rate that last picture though I could get on board 😂
