Looking forward to our betterball match this Saturday... just got a message from one of the opponents saying he's injured, can't play for two weeks, and has got an extension until the 15th (deadline was meant to be June 1st). I'm not really sure how that helps since 14th & 15th is the Club Champs so we can't play that weekend. Have told him this and suggested they may have to concede - no response so far.

Edit: I don't think this feller is very bright. "As long as it's played before the 15th it's ok." Yes, but you just told me you can't play for two weeks. Might be playing a two vs one match at this rate!

Debated with myself about putting this in laughter but it is golf related.

I have been playing around with different shafts on different heads.

Took one of the newly built irons with me today (new to me head on an old shaft I know I like). I kept hitting it fat until I finally got a good one away only for the shaft to snap just after impact.

Since this he hasn't replied. So he tells us he has got a two week extension to postpone our match, (even though he says he can't play for two weeks anyway,) then fails to propose any dates to actually play it on. Cheers for that. I am keeping screenshots of the chat for when the excrement inevitably hits the fan.

Additionally, the next round deadline is the 29th June, so his thoughtful postponement gives us loads of time to play the following round should we get through.

Why do I expect it to be simple when it's the same every year?

I would have expected an extension to be granted if all players can commit to getting it played. Only because he can play in two weeks doesn't mean everyone else can. I would get in touch with the competition committee and say it won't be feasible to play and expect the original date to be upheld or a forfeit due to injury.

If he hasn't replied again by tonight I'll be sending the screenshots to our General Manager to let him know what's going down.

His drives had been horrible all day...why not just swing easier? I don't get it. when things stink....swing easier.

First rule of scrambles: don't allow the team to paint itself into a corner.
Take a few less than ideal drives if necessary so nobody is under pressure late in the round.

We have a mate who will allocate tee boxes beforehand to make scramble more interesting. If you play in a scramble he has invited you to, you get your 4 holes and that is that. 17 & 18 are free for all as normal. Really focuses the mind. Makes for some awesome banter.

Played in a society event where the first 9 holes were scramble. All 3 tee’d off then rolled a dice to see which shot you picked. Got some rotten luck on a couple of holes
