Golf near Leicester

HELP!

This week coming I've got a course up at head office in Leicester ( Beaumont Leas to be precise ).

By the sounds of it, I'm unlikely to get time to actually play, but if we finish every day at 4.00 - 5.00 pm I'll still have time to get to a range once or twice.

Anyone know of a local range I could aim for?

And if a miracle happens and I get time for a round, where is decent and under £30

For a round Kibworth & Greetham Valley are good, dont know about other courses. Rutland Water is very good & has a driving range http://www.rutlandwatergolfcourse.co.uk/

Greetham Valley and Rutland Water are probably a bit out of your way (about 40 minute drive from Leicester). Both are decent enough courses though and you can normally get on for under £30.00.

There is an ok range at Whetstone golf course. Its about 15 mins from Beaumont Leys. Probably the nearest range i would think.

Humberstone Heights has a nice range, about 15 mins drive from Beaumont Leys. They also have a 9 hole pitch and putt course which you could go round in an hour if you finish early enough. Mostly 50-100yd shots from what I remember.

It's also an 18 hole municipal if you have time for a full round, although Western Park is a nicer (imo) muni about 10 mins on the ring-road from Beaumont Leys.

Beedles Lake (where I play) is also about 15 minutes, but I have to say it's not in the best condition at the moment.

There's a few private clubs within 20 minutes drive too but I wouldn't be able to recommend one over another as I haven't played any of them in a long time.
Birstall, Scraptoft, Leicestershire, Rothley, Lingdale. I would imagine they'd all be under £30 this time of year.
