GMac has Signed for Srixon

Definitely not need, but maybe want. Srixon make a good ball but so do Callaway to be fair

Callaway balls are not well loved on tour.

not saying srixon are small by any means, but nicer to be a big fish in a smaller pond, that a tadpole in a lake.

Srixon are definately not a small company, they're part of Sumitomo Rubber, who also own Dunlop Tyres, they've been making golf balls since 1930, and they own Cleveland Golf too.....

As for GMac, do we really care whether he did it for money or not? I know I don't, whatever line we're in, hopefully we're all lookingto provide for our future/ retirment etc. not so much the now. If it was offered to me, I'm sure I'd consider the offer seriously.

As for the new brand screwing up his game, technology has moved on a long ways since Woosie went to Maruman. The new clubs will likely be designed around his needs and requirements, after all, they certainly have a big enough R&D department to do that.

i think if i was G-mac the money would be an influence but im not sure the kit looks that nice. I wud have felt more "special" is titleist had approached me

golfstick, someone posted a few months back that titleist & footjoy was going up forsale, so i cant see them approaching many new players with new contracts.

ahh right, thats fair play then, oddsock. I like them as a brand

I believe he's building a new house in Lake Nona which wont be cheap so I guess the money will help towards that.

He is indeed - he writes about it in golf international

If i'm not mistaken aint that a callaway ft9 driver in his bag? the one without the headcover on.

So does that meen he is still going to be using callaway drivers or do you reckon it may be cause srixon aint got a driver made up to his specs yet?

Good spot, although I think it is an FT Tour, not the FT-9, but good shout!!! :)

Yes he has just tweeted that he has retained his FT tour driver Odyssey#7 putter and Adams hybrids.

Whether at that level the equipment makes much difference is open to debate but I can't understand a player having the best year of their career making such changes = why tamper?

Fair enough he's no doubt being well compensated but if he plays like a turkey will he be thinking if only I had my callway irons..... I know I would.

tweets from G-Mac

Callaway gone because my contract was up and we couldn't come to an agreement. I've left a great company and gone to another great company.

#Cleveland #Srixon are making some fantastic equipment. The Z star ball is fantastic and the new ZTX irons are beautiful. Start of a new era

RT @****** @Graeme_McDowell what shafts you got in the ZTX? >> Project X 6.5 flighted Rifles.

RT @***** @Graeme_McDowell will you be changing the driver at some point? >> Used the Cleveland Launcher today. My old FT Tour first 2 rds

An equipment change after last year seems strange but nowadays all the manufacturers are making great stuff. #Srixon will be great for me.

And I'm hoping that 2010 was more about the Indian than the arrow!!!!!!!

Using the same 588 #Cleveland wedges that I used in college. They are the best. I have 47, 51 and 58 degree lofts all with standard bounce.

The new #Cleveland #Srixon wands!!!! Check them out

the @****** are just ppls names removed

Don't think it matters about the driver, he prob has a 10 club deal which i think is quite common with pro's. Paddy dosen't us a wilson driver or 3 wood and i think half of tours pro's were using the TM r9 when it came out.
Don't think some pro's care what brand of irons they us. Take Henrik Stensson for instance, ive only been following golf for the last 4 years and he has changed clubs every year i've been watching.

Like the look of GMac new irons.

Ooooooooooooh, look at you Mr I'm A Member of Two Classy Links Golf Courses In My Signature!!!!!

:D

You know what they say Clawford, if you've got it, flaunt it :D :D :D

While you're here, the pro at tain does Srixon stuff and will always do deals. if you want a driver he might be able to sort you out.

I'll bare that in mind mate, I'm hoping to go to the range later today to try out the new Titleist 910 range.

Crawford.

The new clubs don't seem to be bothering mc dowell at the moment, he's 17 under.

And he finished -23, -11 for the day yesterday, equalling the course record 62. Not bad for his first tour outing with the bats. He missed 3 or 4 birdie putts on Saturday, which was probably the difference with not winning.
