Go on you bunch of numpties, Some of us are flying into scotland for a game in april, ...... too far to go my bum.![]()
Hywel
If you want to do it at Leatherhead then go for it. I'm more than happy to play that track anytime as I thinks its a great test of golf
People - surely, the more people involved the cheaper it'll be???
Flybe's finest my manNot for Brendy and his Lear jet
Get yourself up to Castle Stuart man, I would play you.
60 notes would seem a little expensive for March....?
Why. No temporary greens or tees so the course wil be playing its proper length off the whites. Its the set society rate although once I get an idea of numbers etc I can negotiate with the club as I did this year.

Funny I thought. Funny.![]()
Just had a look at Royal Ascot site to look at the course etc, happened upon their set rates for societies and found the following.
"Society & Company Golf Day Packages
Here’s a sample of our more popular golf day packages, however, most of our days are booked to the Organisers bespoke requirements. For Societies we generally cater for groups up to 40, however with special arrangements we can accommodate groups up to 80. You are welcome to use our practice facilities and our Pro Shop carries a wide range of equipment and clothing.
Budget Package
Coffee, 18 Holes, One course lunch
from £36.50 per golfer
Premium Package
Coffee & Bacon Bap, 18 Holes, Two course dinner from £48.00 per golfer
Executive Package
Breakfast Buffet, 9 Holes, One course lunch, 18 Holes, Three course dinner
from £67.00 per golfer"
Seems like we are being offered the "Premium Package" at £48 for £60 and that's before the organiser negotiates a decent discount. Where does the other £12 per head go? For prizes? I thought that sometimes the equipment door at GM Towers creaked open a bit to provide some goodies for "official" GM meets.
Leatherhead at £30 or Smiffy's deal at The Addington (a great course apparently) including bacon bap and lunch and 2 rounds for £60 sounds much better value.
I'm out![]()
And the apple pie was homemade and the nuts!
