As someone who won't be entering or winning it seems to me the equitable thing would be for men and women to play off their respective tees and score relative to the respective SSS. Lowest score under SSS wins. Simples

But its scratch, i don't think the SSS comes into it lowest score?

Effectively the ladies are playing on a different course to the men

At our place level par for the ladies is 74 blows and for the men it is 71. If you want to run a no-handicap comp that is fair on the ladies you need to account for that IMO.

Could you do scratch stableford? that way any par differences between male and female would be corrected?

No stableford... proper golf only! :D

Anyway, getting too complicated. For me scratch is scratch - when Michelle Wie played in a PGA tour event she played off the same tees as the guys. Good enough for me.

Early days though - no point getting bogged down on this now.

In a mixed comp with different par and SSS it has to be based on par against sss, I can't see it work any other way, either that or no mixed scratch comps.

Gross 72 against SSS 74 is better than Gross 72 against SSS 72 ultimately.
