This is purely to gauge opinion and is in no way intended to detract from the Hillside event but......

would you be interested in playing in a one day forum SCRATCH event?

At this stage, I haven't even considered any type of funding, dates or location so I am asking the question purely to gauge opinion. IF there is sufficient interest I will look into the possibility of organising something.

As long as i can reserve the right to criticise every part of your organising?

I'd be interested though as long as it wasnt too far up north :D

No thanks, as a 12 HC i would have little chance of winning.

Disappointed you fee you have to create this thread just now whilst we are trying to generate the numbers for the current event.

As stated Martin, this is in NO WAY intended to detract from the main event. IF it goes ahead I would aim to have it later in the year after Hillside has been and gone

Also, I think there are enough low handicappers on here to warrant an event like this anyway.

Patrick....yes, I would be looking at a top quality course :)

Subject to date and venue I'd consider it. Wouldn't have a chance of winning but not bothered about that.

Out of curiosity, what happens about courtesy shots in a mixed scratch event, I guess you don't get any?? Never come across this situation before.

Not wanting to stir up any trouble, but there is a risk that this just becomes another forum meet with a scratch winner.

Well..... in a handicap comp it's not "courtesy" shots it's adjusting handicaps to make them fair. Which may mean either men or women getting more shots depending on SSS etc.

But for scratch I'd assume it's same tees and no strokes. Never played one, I doubt they are very common! It'll be OK, I'll just hit it a bit harder!

I assumed you'd still get to play off the ladies tees of the day. Think Id prefer that, far more worried about being beaten by a lady off the same blocks lol

Agree with this. only fair if you ask me.

Mens comp should be off tees as far back as possible though :)
