GM Forum Users Golf Day

Sounds like a great idea; and a good way of starting to play the different courses I have promised myself!
Will start laying the groundwork, and building brownie points up, with her indoors, definately interested.

Interested as well.

It's my clubs centenary year so as long as the dates don't clash with anything important, I'm interested.

Hi bunker m
Still hoping me and Mr B can be there.
I think latter half of April will be okay, but preferrably 20th or later, otherwise we may be on holiday with friends.
(Here's hoping - I realise you won't be able to please 'all of the people all of the time')
cheers

Alib

As a start I phoned the Formby Hall Golf and Spa Resort, who as an indication could do Accomodation, breakfast and 3 course meal plus golf on Saturday afternoon for £219 pp (based on 2 people sharing a room, if we wanted to play on Sunday, add an extra £55 (but we would not be able to play until after midday!!! They could accomodate upto 50 of us!!!

If any of you guys that know the Liverpool area any better please feel free to post ideas as this is only the start of finding somewhere.

Please let me know yr thoughts and I will continue to make some calls.

Here's to a hopefully top weekend!

When I said unsure, that related to where in the Country you and a few others were from, could be handy for travel arrangements, in that people may want to car shere etc.

Just thinking of keeping the costs down.

AS an aside, what is the average that people would be prepared to pay?

Cheers

Are you looking at a resort type venue as per your 1st post today, or are you looking at a golf venue near a city where Travel Inn / Premier Lodge could be used?

Don't know the area so just thinking out loud

Completely open to all suggestions, I suppose the main priority is playing somewhere nice but that doesn't break the bank thus prohibiting some people from attending because of cost!

My task is made difficult by not knowing the area at all, MikeH has suggested a Marriott as GM has a good relationship with them, and the attached courses should suit all abilities.

I am conscious as well that the course should not be super difficult as I would like to cater for all abilities.

The main object is to get as many people together as possible!

I have played at a couple of Marriots, Breadsall Priory and Hollins Hall, and they were both quality courses. I know that Marriot Worsely Park is in the Manchester area. Maybe worth a look at?

RIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!

THE FORUM DAY FORMAT IS AS FOLLOWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL THOSE WHO HAVE HAD THEIR ARTILLERY FITTED ON ONE SIDE AND THE GREAT UNWASHED (ME INCLUDED) ON THE OTHER AND THE LOWEST AVERAGE WINS THE DISCUSSION ......... END OF ......

bunker, actually I'm south of the midlands in that zone that the weather forecasters keep losing or moving. Even the AA left us off the map!
I'm on the A1 corridor, midway between Cambridge and Bedford.
