Finally bit the bullet and signed up to PS Plus Extra.

I had just finished the original FFVII again, followed by Crisis Core Reunion. So, wanted to play FFVII Remake again (PS5 version this time), before I finally buy Rebirth. Noticed remake Intergrade was on PS Plus account (as was Crisis Core, which I bought separately before), so thought it was worth getting PS Plus Extra, as I'm sure there will be a handful of games on it over a year that I would get, instead of having to buy them.

As I have GT7, I suppose I might be able to now have the odd online race from time to time

I went for PS Plus Extra. Loads on there that I have played from old PS4 games to current PS5 releases. Still waiting for GT7 to hit PS Plus but Sony are not great at getting their own games on their subscription service.

Still tempted to buy Astrobot but that looks like one that may need a price reduction before I take the plunge.
Favourite game this year, Cyberpunk 2077 and the DLC now it has all been fixed.

I played Cyberpunk 2077. Although I felt it became a bit repetitive. As I remember, I just kep my distance for nearly every fight, overloaded the enemies until they died. Millions of weapons, that I barely ever needed to use. Spend more time clearing up my inventory that I would have liked.

Playing a lot of Black Ops 6, haven't touched the single player yet but multiplayer is perfect for a quick 20 blast before I get kicked off so the boy can play Fortnite.

I use to play COD online back in the day.
Me & a mate was talking about getting a Xbox to start playing again now the cold weathers setting in.
Which model should I be looking at?
Doesn’t need much memory as I’ll not be playing many games.

Doesn’t take much to fill the space nowadays. CoD alone is about 300GB. And buying any game on disc downloads the full size “update” before you can play it.

TLDR buy as much as you can afford, having to delete games so that another one can download and install an update is a pain.

I'm currently playing Football Manager 24 mobile, that you get for free if you have Netflix. 😄 Have taken Spurs to 2nd place near the end of season 2, but Liverpool are miles in front.

You can get a simple plug in storage expansion for Xbox from Seagate. Normally have good deals on them in sales etc.

If it's like the PS5 you can't play games from external storage, if you want to play them you need to transfer them back to the console drive. I bought a 2Tb ssd memory card on Black Friday last year, took minutes to fit into my PS5 and I now have shed loads of games on there 👌

It is not, the Xbox storage integrates with the console and so acts just like a larger hard drive. Works really well.

Started the Call of Duty campaign then took a break to play Astrobot and Star Wars Outlaws. Star Wars is not really grabbing me and so may go back to COD but then again there is Stalker 2 next week and Indiana Jones next month all on gamepass.

I'll need to look into some sort of extra storage for the PS5 at some point, as I'm having to clear memory every time I get a new game. I got an external one, in which I would need to transfer the games back to ps5 to play them. Bit of a pain having to move games over every time.

I've kept a few games on the ps5 storage, as I go back to them. Such as GT7, which I still play frequently (especially as I'm on PS Plus now, and do some online racing every now and then)

Such a pity that the Xbox has been so badly outsold by Sony this generation as it is a far better piece of kit (I have both). it is very solidly built, better designed, quieter, has easy to expand storage, has the resume game function, has Game Pass etc but was still outsold. The PS5 by comparison is a bit clunky to use, feels cheap and plasticy, it is pretty huge and ugly but may have the better controller.
