Everything in FC24 is geared to guiding you into FUT and from there everything is trying to guide you to the store to buy the not so micro transactions. Everything is geared to get you to buy points.

I’ve reached the end of the road with it, been playing FUT religiously since FIFA 13 and it just gets worse and worse. The vast majority of the community are hooked on packs and would throw their nan off the bus for a 100K pack.

Throw in their crap servers with massive input delay, all their mistakes from cards having wrong stats, wrong leagues, wrong countries etc. They even screwed up the pack weights at Team Of The Year and it meant you had about a 30% chance of getting Messi instead of the normal 0.00003% (just a guess they don’t actually publish the odds of getting a specific card) but only for the first 30 minutes of it being released. They soon fixed it and the lucky ones just got to keep the card that cost over 10 million on the market.

For those that don’t play, it probably cost about £60 for a million coins at the time from the illegal coin selling sites.

You stuck it out longer than me. Like you I used to love UT from Fifa 13 onwards, but gave up around Fifa 19 when the amount of special cards they were making became just stupid. I liked the 'in form' concept when they play well in real life, but they were just giving special cards to every player for a whole host of bogus reasons - just the players they knew would sell packs really (I remember a flashback Sturridge card when he'd been injured 18 months for example). I also partially stopped playing because the scripting was bad for my mental health - I wouldn't go to bed until I'd won a game, but it would literally make you powerless at times and you'd lose 5 or 6 games in a row to utter nonsense in-game. I've since only got Fifa 22 and now FC24 on free downloads from PS Plus. No real temptation to play UT, I just stick to career mode and seasons. Even seasons is only bearable until you reach about division 5 then you meet all the try-hards there too.

When I last played it regularly, I simply picked my team and just played the season. Don't remember transfers or any season by season stuff.

Pretty sure that is Mass Effect. Played it ages ago now, after mate at work kept going on about it. Really liked it.

Also one in Lifeline (never heard of it)

One in Champions Online (never heard of it)

I'm still guessing it was Shepherd in Mass Effect, as he was in the Series. Although, as pointed out, it was actually Commander Shepherd rather than Captain Shepherd

The rank is the confusing part as it was General Shepherd in MW2 and, as said, Commander Shepherd in Mass Effect.

Shepherd in Pikmin 4 was not the main character so very obscure if that is the answer.
