I'm quite new to the GM forum, and forums as a whole tbh. So I'm wondering whats appropriate to put in your signature block? I've had a look at the forum guidelines and at other peoples signature blocks and I think I've made mine to look something similar.

I guess my question is, do other forum users even read it and if you do, do you care what it says or do you form an opinion on that person based on it?

For example, in my block I have done as most do and put my hcp in there along with my wins this year and the contents of my bag. But I feel like I'm bragging and thats just not my normal offline personality. I am proud of my hcp and my wins this year as I'm sure most golfers are but do I come of as a tool because I'm advertising it all on my signature block?

I've got broad shoulders I can take the truth.

No rights and wrongs although some do seem to get a bit stressed if you put pics in there are it can cause issues downloading pages (which I accept) and others don't seem to like you listing your life history. I think life's too short to worry. Yours doesn't seem excessive so stick with it as long as you are happy with it.

If people dont like it they do have the option of turning the signature section off as well ;)

Me personally, Meh would be my response.

Looks Ok to me apart from the extraneous apostrophe re the balls (pedant alert).

Arrggh!!! I've tried to be so careful about those. I'm a Yorkshireman, English isn't my first tongue, please excuse this error.

In my opinion, anything over 5 or 6 compact lines is taking the mickey, its nice to see what everyone is using but going as far as bag and ball type is too much.

Agreed, I was going for a slight tongue in cheek approach with my contents, hence the fluff.

I think they give you the chance to form an opinion on that person. As with most members on here they don't get to meet a lot of the fellow forumers so to see a glimpse on how they display themselves is quite good.

A good example is if you see oddsocks or Aztecs signatures you will see they look dull and boring and almost complete knobs. It's a perfect example because they're like that in real life too! :) :D :D (they know I love them really.... Honest.... Well maybe!)

I think you'll find there's another "a" in Aarrggh, at least down south ... well East Anglia and Devon ;)

P.S. Could add in your Sig why you've got a logo of an Edelweiss - are you half Austrian ?

Seriously though, more info in Sigs allows us some chance of making a veiw on an individual, even if it is likely to be highly flawed.

Although, knowing what someone's handicap is, or what clubs tehy play does sometimes help inform a debate.

....or mentioning what you DON'T have :D :D :D :p

I was thinking of adding in mine that I don't have a full time Caddy, nor ride on buggy, I putt without a V-Easy (no offense Bob), I don't have a glove and no golf shoes in Summer :p
