Morning all

Currently on holiday 5 mins walk from playa serena golf club in spain. Booked in for a round tomorrow morning, firstly it's going to be very very hot and secondly we've (my father in law an I ) decided to hire a half set each.

I've never gone out with a half set before, I've been told the club hire out ping g20s which seem a decent club, I just hope they've got a stiff shaft and a decent wedge.

What would you expect of a half set in my situation? Any good or bad stories of holiday rounds?

you will be surprised how easy it is to score with a half set. Had some of my best ball striking days with just 3 clubs and one of those was a putter

No point trying to relate a score to anything, just go out and have fun. Forget about the fact its a foreign course with a half set of clubs you dont know.

Just play golf.

if it's Serena near Murcia you are talking about, it's not having a half set of clubs you'll need to worry about but having enough balls in your bag !!, more water and sand than fairway if I remember rightly.

Course was in great condition. Very long and playing with a set of unfamiliar clubs with the wrong shafts was a challenge....out in 50 and back in 41. So +19 (17 handicapper), lucky the putter was hot.

Never played in such hot conditions (it was around 36 degrees).

Love holiday golf.
