Fore right
Fore left
Is it your left/right or his?

When I played alot of golf, people just shouted Fore.
Now it's fore left or right.
But whose?
What do you shout?

Fore right normally! ;)

haha made me chuckle

I bet most shout this.

Normally I shout my right or left cos by the time I have worked out if it is his R or L it will have hit him :D

It was a bit of a joke until I realised that actually I can't remember the last time I shouted "Fore Left!"

Sad reflection on my golf really. :(

Whichever side of the fairway they are standing from the tee. Often wondered if being in the middle of the fairway might be the safest place... "Fore Middle"!!

A friend i play with shouts as loud as he can " FORE AND DUCK " And i have to say it works really well.
Someone once made a comment about how close the ball was to them, and he answered, I shouted "FORE AND DUCK" if your stupid enough to stand there and do nothing its your own fault.

Took me 2 or 3 holes to stop laughing...

As soon as i hear fore i take cover behind my playing partners. It just brings out the natural coward in me.

Personally i just shout fore, haven't got time to work out left or right, although i have both shots in the bag

im just a Fore person ...unless theres 2 sets of ppl pretty close either side who are in view who can also see which way im pointing aswell then i'll give a left or right too

tbh i find ppl doing routinely it on course just do it cos theyve seen it on tv

as soon as anyone shouts fore....everyone should take cover

TBH, I shout FORE and hold my club up to indicate the direction. That said, normally there is only one lot within range, and they know who they are. Also, any one who looks up to see where I'm pointing is an idiot, likely to end up with a large dental bill.

I always include left or right from my perspective.

If I hear a fore left/right I'll think which hole it's likely to have come from then if I'm on the opposite side to what they're shouting so I assume they mean from their perspective too.

When the ball's been hit it normally stays in the air for 5 or 6 seconds so plenty of time to work out if you're in the way then look for the ball then take cover.

Fair point, however you are relying on the people the ball is heading towards working out the left/right connotations.

They may not be as switched on as you, if they are a visiting 4 ball from Norfolk then in 6 seconds they’ve got no chance. :D

Maybe we should always pitch for the lowest common denominator, a quick shout of fore and hope they duck

I tend to shout fore and just point in the direction its going. Hopefully I'm loud enough for people to at least look up and see me pointing one way or another. I have heard fore left/right but I can never work out if it's meant for me so always take precautionary cover. Having been hit by a ball its an experience I'm not keen to repeat

To be honest, on our course there's not much scope for shouting "Fore". Other fairways are so distant - I can still hit 'em though - that there's little chance of anyone being there.

I shout Fore Left or Fore Right, I love a good shout and adding the extra word means double the shouting!

When I hear a shout of Fore I cover my head if there's ANY chance it could be coming my way.

I tend to shout Fore Left or Fore right but not sure it matters as most people in the area take action as soon as they hear the 'Fore' bit.
