Suggestions please for new rules that the R&A will NEVER introduce...

Mine is that any shot from off the green that hits the flagstick is deemed to be holed with the next shot.
Mainly because i hate to hit the flag and see the ball spin off 20 feet.

If the ball finds the second cut of rough you are allowed to take relief by kicking the ball out so long it's no longer than one club length.

The amendment to the above rule would be that the previous rule only applies if the ball cannot be tee'd up.

Those golfers who wish to use an electric trolley must incur a 2 shot penalty as they always go on about how much they save on their game when using one such item.
(b) Those who use a cart are not allowed to disembark to hit their ball at any time, if they can stand to hit a ball, they can walk the bloody course, failure to adhere, 2 stroke penalty per occurrence.

People who wont move with the times and accept that GPS and electric trolleys are part of the game now should not be allowed to use other modern technologies such as new clubs and balls and should be made to play with equipment from the 70s

Wasnt aimed at you Brendy, honestly:whistle:

Following a spate of lip outs the other week we decided we needed a new definition for "holed" along the lines of

"The ball is deemed to be "holed" as soon as any part of the ball touches the hole or passes within or over any part of the hole. The ball need not come to rest in hole."

:D I do ok without em!

If your second tee shot also goes OOB/ in the water/in the jungle you are allowed to drop out within six club lengths... especially if it's a medal game. To save time. Well actually ro save acute embarrassment.

No, you'd have to include Hybrids.............

Any group who fail to ensure that someone - anyone - drives off within 40 seconds of said group reaching the tee, shall each have 2 penalty shots added to their score.
If there is another group on the fairway ahead of them, this penalty shall be reduced to one penalty shot.

Instead of deducting a players handicap from their gross score, the player should be allowed to throw the ball instead of hitting it, up to a maximum number equal to their handicap.

Any one under the age of 25 with a handicap of scratch or better should be made to use persimmon woods with a steel shaft, and blade irons bought from Argos.

Also, anybody that has a ball retriever in their bag should be made to count it as one of their 14 clubs.

Club chucking should results in an instant dq from and form of comp, dq more than 3 comps per season and your excluded from comps for the remainder of the season. A season is determined by a membership year -

RULE: You are not allowed to tee up on any hole if you have a smaller group on the green behind you.

UNLESS: They let YOU through earlier.

Optional: You can hit but you are not allowed to leave the tee box until the smaller group has passed.

Any putt missed from under 6 feet must be replaced NEARER the hole and retaken, another subsequent miss is then deemed to have been holed out with the first putt!

Any player who refers to a playing partner using an ageist phrase or expression is automatically penalised 2 shots for each transgression or loss of the hole in match play.

Thats sorted you out Scottjd, Oddsocks, Jimboo, Richardc (I think) and Bratty, along with Pieman and Paul wokingham!

The "three strikes and you're out" rule applies to all bunker shots.
If the third strike at the ball fails to get it out of the bunker, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed on fringe of green, no closer than 6" to the edge of green.

Any player who states that a ball is in, when it is clearly going to miss the hole should be beaten to death with a rotting haddock.

If a matchplay hole is won with more than a triple bogey the player who lost the hole has to play the next without their trousers.

Exception- Those with unattractive knees are exempt
