Have played 3 medals so far this season and managed a cut yeterday.

The first medal was a net 78 :( the second I finished 8, 6 for a net 72, non counter so no change.

Yesterday I started with a 7 on the first, for the 3rd medal in a row !!! that was from the middle of the fairway as well. Managed to pick it up a little from there. After my finish the last time I knew I needed 5, 5 finish for a 71 this time and was a little apprehensive, tee shot at 17 never a favourite - what railway line ! managed 4,5 for a 70. CSSS was 73 so a 0.9 cut takes me from 17.4 down to 16.5, still off 17 though ;)

How did everybody else do ?

Good shooting Alan. Always nice to get a cut. Started with a 7 myself yesterday in medal but steadied it to play next 8 at 3 over for 20 point on the front. 12 on the back nine was poor to say the least. Short game killed me yesterday. Fluffed about 5-6 pitch/chips. Rest of game was jogging on well with some super strikes so all in all Im pretty happy...

Sounds good Fabian, some short game practice time required, was decent day for a game as well, not too windy. Have to get a game sometime ?

Nice going! Club's Spring Meeting a few weeks ago....82 gross off 15 so got cut to 13.9. Now off 14 and then went to Forest of Arden and came second with 34 points in the Northern Regional Finals of the Matchplay Championships which qualified me for the Finals in Dubai! :whoo:

Going well so far :) and still fiddling with my clubs.....:mmm:

Said to Dr Ray on the way to Machrihanish that your game was well apart from your short game where you just seem to make crazy choices. Think about what your doing before reaching for your SW. So many times at Blairgowrie you should have been taking a 7 iron and bumping it. I've also noticed that in the past you just reach for a club and pitch it.

Have a think first, look at the lie, the ground, where the pin is, are there any hazards, slopes, best be short of the flag, past the flag etc etc.

Just try and have a look and think first and I'm sure your short game will come on leaps and bounds.

Nice shooting - congrats on the cut. Great to get an early one in.

Hoping for one myself as I had a decent first medal of the season - just awaiting the CSS etc to see what it ends up being.

NR and fine you know, lol, i reckon your cut is down to your new two lucky charms:whoo:played my AWAY course today 84 net 71 and left at least ten out there

Got my 1st ever handicap this a.m and it is a surprising 18, so i was a little disappointed thinking i would struggle to play to it but surprisingly i did so walking with my head held high today.

Good stuff Alan, my first Medal of the year and was net 71 CSS was 73 so a cut but still of 13, didn't strike it well today but scored so can't complain .

Good shooting Mr McCaw and Mr Kemlo.

I hope to get my first medal card in soon. The advantages you two lucky beggars have of playing links golf.

Cheers mate, the course is good just now,the greens have a bit of pace to them already, had a 7 and 2 6s in my round today,so hopefully get another one on Wednesday in the sweep.

we are playing off whites, but still preferred lie's until next week im told, only thing thats stopped me being dead last again is that there where 2 NR's when i left lol

great shooting for the cut, cant wait to get my first

Good shooting, and congrats on the cut.
Since ive joined my new club 4 weeks ago,ive had 3 small cuts.
Playing under my handicap 4 times in 8 rounds.
I think its purely down to enjoying the new club.

Played a Midweek comp on wednesday, shot 35 points, finished 3rd, 37 won, standard scratch was 34 pts, scoring was really hard, probably due to the really wild winds we had........??
So 1st cut of the season

Unfortunately, played again this morning, managed 10 holes, me Back has 'Gone' again.......!!!
So walked the rest, marking my mates card.
Gutted

Another rest and spell on the sidelines for me........

Missed our first comp of the season as i was working and missed todays because i forgot to enter it!

Playing in a open at a local course tomorrow, stableford, full allowance and it's off the yellows so should be a nice easyish introduction back into competive golf.

Although the weather may be a challange as it's forecast for rain all day and a bit breezy.

Well done Alan good score yesterday. I spoke to our other Bogside member lastnight so maybe we can arrange a game soon. I walked off at 14 yesterday I have twisted my knee soI am sitting with an ice pack on just now. I hope you have a good season and maybe later as there are 3 of us now we could arrange a forum golf meeting at Bogside.

Thanks guys for all the good wishes, it seems some others have been doing well, well done to you all
It is good to be playing medals this early, Crawford is your first one next month ;)

Bigslice you knew you were my lucky charm, keeping my mind off my own golf, ps how's the leg ?

Let's hope everyone keeps it up during the season.
