I've been layed up in bed for last 3 days with a nasty bug so decided to watch some films. Any way, ended up watching the old faithful, the films that I think I could watch at any given point in time and they are: THE LORD OF THE RINGS(all three of them)

Absolutely awesome and easily my favourite films ever!
Just wondering what your lot's thoughts are on favourites?

My all time favourite is a very patriotic war film. No hijacking from the Yanks telling the tale as though they were the only ones in the war fighting the Germans.

It's "Battle of Britain"

A fantastic "All star cast", some witty one liners, plus the happy ending where we see good old Tommy Atkins stick one on the filthy hun!

My old reliables are -

Where Eagles Dare....(broadsword calling Danny Boy... ;))
Withnail and I
Bourne trilogy
Spinal Tap
Meet the parents
Something about Mary
Fifth Element

Best film I've ssen lately is Michael Clayton. Die Hard 4.0 was surprisingly good. The Dark Knight was also good.

Love the Magnificent Seven and Aliens, never get bored of those 2. The Great Escape is also a favourite as is The Sting.

See signature for No 1.

Anything by the Cohens is always good for me then LA Confidential and Dawn Of The Dead (the original).Dead Mans Shoes is another little gem.

Oh and Star wars stll rocks

The Blues Brothers (original)
Undercover Blues
Mr & Mrs Smith
Fifth Element
Waterworld (probably the only one watching)
Good Morning Vietnam (but just for the Soundtrack)
The Matrix
We Were Soldiers *
Saving Private Ryan *

* for the same reason, the stars forgot to be stars so the story came first

Anything by Kevin Smith (he is a genius), Adam sandlers early stuff (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Waterboy). Kill Bill 1 and 2, Shawshank redemption, Pursuit of Happyness, and pretty much anything with Denzel.
I do get out honest :o

I'm glad to see lots of votes for Shawshank Redemption- great film!

The great escape would have to be my all time favorite- what a superb cast!

Being a man from the 80's mine are:

Top Gun ... Great soundtrack and my all time fave
Say Anything ... In your eyes by Peter Gabriel WOW !!
Pushing Tin .... I loved the BBT performance
Debbie does .... oops sorry lads.
Dead, Solid, Perfect ... The best golf film you will never see.
The Legend

I went to see 7 pounds last week and it was superb.
