Played the Dunbar open today.

100% Fairways in Regulation! Don't remember ever managing that before. OK, one of them benefited from a rather generous fairway but it still counts!

Rest of my game..... awful! 7 G.I.R only  Least said the better!

Over-rated stat imo, but well done anyway.

GIRs and Putts much more important imo.

Hitting any 1st fairway is cause for celebration, but Dunbar's particularly! Oone of my favourite golfing venues!

Do they still have the 'Mixed Lounge'? I think there may even have been some sort of marker in the carpet too! It as 10 years ago mind!

Totally agree, good driving combined with gash approach play and distinctly average short game gave me an awful 86 blows for 0.1 back. I've scored better on days when I've barely scared any fairways!

Yeah, the "mixed lounge" is still there. I was also in the "ladies lounge" briefly.... not sure if there's a gents lounge....

I am at Dunbar on Sunday, looking forward to it as haven't played it since I left nearly 4 years ago.

How were the greens? Dunbar is never really real links,I always see it as a hybrid between links and parkland grass.

Greens were a bit on the slow side and with a few bumpy patches. Not great but not bad.

Great accuracy mate, now without being rude and off your handicap your obviously a very good player but... If your faced with a 400+ yard par 4 and there are about 5 on my home course what is your strategy? If your driving 200 yards then you then have the same again into the green?
