F1 2024

I was thinking that, but it all seems a bit OTT. Like, Big Brother is watching.

Imagine every football team, or any organisation at all, had someone behind the person being interviewed, and pulled them away anytime they got a hint of something untoward being said? It seems like the PR staff need to be sacked at Red Bull, as they seemingly fail to pull Max away every time he says something controversial :ROFLMAO:

They do! Watch any full press conference and you will see someone orchestrating it. I know all the PR team at the Tampa Bay Bucs and hear them with "two more questions" or "that's it" - all part of modern day life unfortunately.

I think McLaren might need a new race strategist, its not the first time they've made the wrong decision which has cost them the race/constructor points.

Perhaps what needs to happen is that changing tyres after a red flag is banned. And banning pitstops during safety car and VSC periods for that matter. Then we wouldn't have pure luck playing a part.

It seems strange that Mercedes were fined for changing the tyre pressure during the first red flag but you can change the whole set under a different red flag 🤔

I would definitely ban free pit stops during a red flag. If you want to do anything to the car other than add cooling fans/tyre blankets/etc., then the car should be pushed into the garage and then to the back of the queue once the work is done.

I thought the issue was changing the pressure when the wheels were attached to the car. The on-board from George's car showed the engineers fiddling with his tyres on the car, and in the background the Mclaren engineers had just removed Lando's wheels to do adjustments.

IIRC it wasn’t a red flag when Mercedes did that, it was either just before the first formation lap, or during the aborted start situation.

Being able to change tyres under a red flag doesn’t seem right, but there are winners and losers in all situations.

In between the two ‘starts’ was red flag conditions

Well, isn't the interview with Russell below quite explosive? If only we had more of the season to go, and opportunities to see him and Max fighting on track. Let's hope we see some close battles next season, or even this weekend...

I like that max has no problem grassing up lando but heaven forbid someone grasses him up

Is Max a bully? - yes 100%

Does Max always complain if anything goes against him? - yes 99.5%

Would Max have gone ape if Lando had reported him for not lifting? - yes 100%

Is Horner a yapping little terrier? - OMG yes 100%

Is George two-faced like Max says? - Don't know, but George is director of GPDA - so a very political position in the sport.

And finally - is this a nice distraction for the FIA from the current head of the FIA declaring himself unimpeachable grand emperor and supreme leader of all world motorsport? - Yes 100%

The FIA stuff is bonkers, I can't believe there hasn't been more made of the fact he's trying to change the rules to stop any of the investigations that have been done, let alone more on the number of people that he's fired - let's hope someone opposes him when his term expires.

I've never taken to Russell. He always seems a bit smug - and beating Lewis this year has done nothing but encourage him.

Max and George are rather like a couple of toddlers fighting at nursery school.

He's also trying to grant himself a "development fund" for his sole use, with no receipts or justifications to be supplied to anyone (and definitely not to be used to buy votes next year). And at the same time he controls all press access to the circuits, drivers and press conferences for all journalists and broadcast companies.

Someone, (almost) anyone has got to run against him.

Ive tended to view them as a repeat of Hill and Schumacher

Checo out at Red Bull, it seems Lawson is the favourite to replace him, which could be interesting as he seems very full of himself so we might see some fireworks with MV!

Perez being binned is 12 months too late.

Lawson is an interesting one. Not long in RB and gets a seat in the main team, ahead of the unlucky Tsunoda. Lawson is feisty and maybe that's what Max and Horner want, fitting in with their results-first team ethos. 😉
