Ever had your clubs driven over? !!

Perhaps it would help if you cone off the area in which you intend to place the bag. You can get collapsible cones such as these which would easily fit into the boot. You however, need to remember to remove the cones from the boot, expand them and deploy them before placing the bag in the designated area. You also need to remove and collapse the cones after use and place them in the boot - perhaps these guidelines can be added to Mark's list?

Its a golf club car park. I would expect to find golf bags, trolleys, golfers, dogs, etc.

The van driver is either reckless, clueless, or blind. He should not be driving at all.

Is the correct answer!

As had been said, if the Golf Bag wasa ctually a person who had stumbled or had a heart attack there wouldn't be any questioning as to where any blame lay.

If you're in charge of a vehicle - any vehicle - you have a duty of care to anyone and anything around you.

Too many people overlook this fact.....

If you hit/run over something that isn't moving - who's fault is it?

Wow, this one ran! Seemed uncontroversial as well....

Unless the clubs were placed directly in front of the van such that the driver had no chance of seeing them when he started, or thrown in front of him as he passed(!), it's a clear case of driving without due care and attention. Sorry but even if placed right in the middle of the road you can't just run over something and claim you couldn't see it.

Perhaps mark doesn't drive?

I hope Markgs doesn't drive as he seems to think you drive the same way on the M4 as through a golf club car park.

Well my friend got her clubs checked over and several of her new woods were cracked and one had broken under the grip.
Van company have been in touch and no problem about them reimbursing her.

Lessons learned by all concerned!
