equipment you bought but wished you had not bothered

Cleveland 588TT irons.

They should be lovely, and worked just fine at the store. But on the course ... hateful. Can't hit them for toffee.

Chunk ... chunk ... thin ... whoooooaaa that went well. That's about the ratio :(

Indoor putting mat. It had been stored folded, and despite ironing, the folds were always there. Which made putting a bit of a lottery.

Just like my real putting.

The Perfect Club. A gimmicky club from the US, similar and previous to a hybrid. As usual I would have been better getting a lesson. I think it's in the garage somewhere. If anyone wants it they're welcome to it.

I member seeing those on the Golf channel when i first started playing in 2006, always fancied one;)

You don't have the Alien wedge/ Slazenger Big Easy Irons as well do you? there was a driver as well, but i can't remember what that was called?

Another Game golf here.

Spent more time editing my round after finish! Forgetting to tag, double tagging.

Obviously the user rather than the device but too much tossing about for me, so it had to go. Lasted about 5 rounds

Galvin Green waterproof. Horrendous quality and even worse customer service. Appreciate that some rave about them but I owned 3 jackets all leaked horrendously.

Now own Zero Restriction and Peak Performance gore red jackets, never once had an issue.

Hippo 400cc driver. Massive slice every time. Once, my brother-in-law tried a round with it. He threw it back at me at the 12. Sold on e-bay with an ad that slagged the thing off as a warning for others to be on the safe side. It still sold.....for 99p

Hahaha! Honesty is the best policy!

Bought a driving iron because I couldn't hit a fairway with the driver. What I should have done and eventually did was get lessons on how to use the driver.

Looking back my biggest regret, was also one of the best parts of getting into the game.

I wasted money on second hand clubs because I didn't know enough about them. Probably the only 24 Y/O with graphite irons, moved them on after a couple months. First driver was a Cobra Long Tom- they really saw me coming with that one, shinny new Wilson Staff Irons in a sale, but never really got on with them just liked the price. Same goes for bags, shoes etc.

A few years in and now I am happy with what I have, and had a great time putting my bag together, but thinking back makes me sick on the amount of money wasted because I thought cheaper would do, in hindsight I probably could have been custom fit for brand new clubs the same as what I have now for less than all the junk I burned through to find them. (I dread the thought of looking back in 20years and counting up what all I have wasted :ooo:)

Game golf, lasted 4 holes before I got fed up. Doesnt stop me thinking I should buy another though

3 bays gsa pro. Lasted about as long as the game golf.

Sldr hybrid. Couldnt miss on the range, couldnt hit it on a course. Like swing a lead weight

I don't really have one to be honest - or not one I could remember.
Backyard chipping net - that was pretty useless and a couple of head covers!

Although you say alignment sticks - I find these are the best bit of kit I have - use them for putting practice - swing practice! they're brilliant for something under 10 quid!

Also think I've been through about 6/7 2 irons in the last couple of years. Love the idea of one but can't hit them for toffee.
