Well here I am sitting post on the forum when I should be on the way to the golf course for a 844 tee. However, I did not have time to follow the advice in December's magazine and get some decent wet weather gear so given the horizontal stuff bashing my front door at the moment we decided to wimp out.

Anyone else done the same today?

Was due to play with 3 other mates at 10.20 this morning but decided to call a halt to proceedings at 7.00pm last night.
220 mile round trip to get to the course for me, and I wasn't prepared to risk it.
Ho hum.

ENGLISH WEATHER come up to Bonnie Scotland. Then you can see if the money spent on new waterproofs was well spent. Played/swam round 18 wintergreens yesterday and that was with no rain.

Woke up this morning in the land of horizontal rain, went down to the club and amazingly no one turned up for the Sunday morning sweep. Wimps.

Then again I am sitting here replying to this.

I was very specific about ENGLISH as having played years ago in Caithness I appreciate that what we've got today in the Midlands is close to the norm for some parts of the UK!

Just sitting browsing on-line shops for bloody gear as I type :D

Where do you play in Worcs? (my neck of the woods)

Our winter league was called off...thank God. I'm too old for wading about wet through and miserable. I'll leave that to the under 25's.

was playing in a t shirt yesterday and now we have a river running down the road

was watching the match play in spain on sky ,they were saying over cast but not a wind and still nice and warm
wish i was there!!!

I had a tee booked for 10.24 but wimped out, I did sneak in 9 holes (well 14 before it got dark) yesterday but played terribly so im going to try again midweek if the weather improves.

Just about to join Hagley (£ permitting) but have played at Bromsgrove this year and Enville (yes I lost a few balls) :D

Yesterday was perfect for playing up here, but I couldnt get a tee time.

Had an 0800 tee booked today so I usually nip down to the locker room and get my clubs on the Saturday night because the club isnt open by 8 on a Sunday. BUT having seen the weather forecast for today the only thing I did was switch off the 0700 alarm call on my phone, and I have spent most of the day watching the VOLVO matchplay.

Hopefully next weekend !!!!!

Missed out yesterday due to work. Nice day, relatively warm and sunny.
Woke this morning to the sound of torrential rain lashing at my window with wheely bins sailing down the road due to gale force winds!

Out for lunch to clebrate the mother in laws birthday. Hence no golf this weekend. Won't get the chance to play course golf until next weekend. May have to resort to the range during the week to get my fix. Not as good but it means I'll be hitting balls.

Was going to try the v-easy today but the putting green was flooded when I got there. Practice ground had standing water and into the teeth of the strong winds so no mileage hitting balls. Opted for a carvery and a drink and back home to watch the golf

I could never forget my mother in law's birthday. Yep! 31st October. Absolutely true.

I did one year buy her a besom broom for her birthday. Didn't go down too well :o :o

My wife always thought I was joking when I referred to her mother as the old witch.

After all the glorious Autumn weather I'd forgotten what it was like to play in the rain!

I headed out this morning at 8am, driving along the short stretch of the south downs, the highest point in the area where it always catches the worst of the weather, thick fog and driving rain, optimistically thinking it would clear further on. You'd think I would of taken the hint that I might get just a little wet. But no, I carried on ever hopeful.

On arrival at the course I was met at the clubhouse foyer full of like minded folk, all trying to make the decision of whether to brave it, or take the sensible option of....... going home! In the end 8 of us, (nutters), decided to give it a go.

Well it was .....wet, so much, that I've never ever been as wet and soaked through after playing just 9 holes. Instead of it getting better as we all thought - hoped, it lashed it down with driving winds, needles in the face job.

Needless to say we walked in after the 9 holes to a much welcomed warm drink and bite to eat.

It left me thinking, why oh why didn't I just stay in bed like a sensible person would :) :D

Golfmmad.
