Jimmy Ballax, just got in after a fantastic 36 hrs ending with a 5 pint skin full at a British legion do, and caught the last 5 mins of ELO iat Wembley on BBC 2. Gutted.

If you can't get to see the real ELO, then I strongly recommend the ELO Experience - seen them many times and they are fantastic.

Saw him/them in Hyde Park a couple of years ago with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, absolutely fantastic.

A mate and I had tickets to see them back about 1972. A week or so before the gig we found out that Roy Wood had left and someone called Jeff Lynne was fronting them so we nearly didn't bother to go - but we did and the rest is history!

Wifey was going to buy me a couple of tickets last time they were in Nottingham, cheapest were £200+, she said to go watch em on U tube lol.

Don't quite understand that as Jeff effectively fronted the band from its formation by himself, Roy Wood and Bev Bevan .
This followed the break up of The Move.

MM was Roy Wood the original face/ Voice of the band. And Jeff Lynne took over. similar to what happend at Genesis.
Lazker, I thought exactly the same that the tickets were expensive. Me first album ever bought. " A new world record ". Still got it. Me fave album " Live at long beach". Can see an ELO day coming up.

Not as we saw it. A joint effort perhaps as Lynne was the lead singer and songwriter from the outset.

Never having seen them back then and Roy Wood being a very well known front man, him leaving was a surprise and id never heard of Jeff Lynne way back in the early 70's.
