Eclectic scores

Eagles are hard to come by at our place, especially for a chopper like me. The 17th is the only par 5 which you could realistically hope to get on in 2 blows, so you’re hoping for chip ins really.

I’d be delighted to get my eclectic to 54 - with a bird on every hole

All time? Haven't got my laptop on with my stats, but from memory, I've eagled two of the holes - unfortunately one of those holes doesn't exist anymore though so can't count it now. 😆😢 I believe there are two holes I've never yet birdied - one of them is a short par 4 so bit of a weird anomaly that I've not got one there, but there you go. So that means, one eagle, 15 birdies and two pars for a 17 under par 51.

Edit: I've just remembered actually, one of them I only birdied off a temp tee that was 100 yards shorter, so I probably shouldn't count that. 16 under 52. 👍🏻
I recently birdied one of the holes I'd never birdied before, so my eclectic score is one better now. 👍🏻

40.
There's been very little change in the last half of the near 20 years I've played here, most recently adding a HiO at the 13th just over 2 years ago in a 4BBB board comp.

From HDiD (which covers March 2011 – March 2024 and only includes individual stroke play comps, so is missing HiOs at 9, 11 & 13 and eagles at 1, 7, 8 & 12):

I know that I have eagled our 3 par-5s a few times each and had three hole-in-ones. I may have forgotten about holing out from the fairway on par-4s.
I did one in a comp this year. A few years ago in a scramble we took my drive on our shortest par-4 and I used a putter from 10 yards off the green and holed it. It was my two shots, but in a scramble - don't know whether to count that one. I can remember 2 occasions in comps on our 10th and 12th holes, because my score for 18 holes won the day.
But in casual golf, I may have done more and then forgot about it.
50 years is a long time.

27-under 43, maybe.

We had an eclectic competition this year. Tuesday medals only. April to September.
Half your course handicap deducted from gross score. The more you enter the better your chances, of course.
I was tied with 2 others for first place at the end.
13 birdies in 17 rounds. Net 16 under. Some of those holes I birdied more than once, which became a little annoying in September - strange feeling!

Same happened to me on our par 5 17th. Took my drive, my approach (hit the green) and I holed the putt for eagle.

Next weeks medal... I did exactly the same thing!!

Only been at my current club for just over a year but managed to birdie all bar the SI1 11th (hard green to hit in two and when you do the green is as flat as a rollercoaster). Eagled the par 4s at 5, 7 and 14 for an eclectic of -21 (46 from a par 67). Haven't eagled our only Par 5 yet as seem to have a bit of a mental block on it for some reason.

One day, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon... I will birdie the 11th!
