Little bit of idle time this morning so I did a comparison of this years scores and effect on my handicap using both the WHS and the UHS

I have put in 27 scores so far this year mostly not good

WHS current handicap 14.7
UHS current handicap 14.8

So no real difference

Has anybody else done this?

Seems like a big difference to me. Under UHS your "playing" handicap would be 15, what is it under WHS?

I just did the numbers on mine, started the season at 2.8. If I do my 28 counting scores since April under congu my handicap would now be 3.2 but under WHS it's 1.9. It actually works out OK though because with both of them I would be getting 3 shots off the whites.

Where I play 15 and 15 yellow
15 and 16 white

VHS was inferior to Betamax, but lost out on price and recording time.

Kinda but (I like to think) mostly because I was incentivised to sell VHS machines more than Beta (retail)
Head office put higher commission on the likes of JVC, AIWA etc than they did for Sony, I guess due to margins. So that’s what we sold
;)

With CR-Par I play off 6 in a strokeplay comp at my course.

Without CR-Par I would play off 5 in a strokeplay comp at my course

Old system I would play off 5 strokeplay comp at my course.

Assuming fewer than 50 scores over the period, I'd expect the UHS projection to have a variance of ±1 (or more) depending on what is specified as the starting exact (which probably wouldn't have been 2.8 under UHS). This anchoring was one of the system's biggest problems.

I just chucked my last 20 rounds into ChatGPT. I told it to assume the rounded CR is the CSS (I have no idea what the old SSS was). It told me I'd be a 7.8 vs an 8.8 I am now
