Ear Blockage. Any Doctors on here?

Do not ask a golf forum for a medical opinion, Go to the Doc's end of.

Thought it was an out of bounds section to discuss/help each other with non golfing related matters. Have been to doc and got fobbed off a couple of times hence why I asked on here. Now finally managed to get a referral to ENT after eliminating other potential problem which people on here have suffered with. Also the real medical advice I was looking for was from the Doc's. Clue's in the thread title:mad: Thanks for your help anyway:thup:

Didnt mean it to come across that way, I meant I would still ask the crappiest Doctor before The most intelligent golfer.
:p

Been a while I know but went to the Endocrinology department today after an ENT appointment showed nothing amiss. Well after today I have been diagnosed with a tumour on my pituitary gland which I have been assured as much as they can that it is not cancerous and have been given thyroxine tablets to take. Many thanks for all your help on this matter earlier:thup:

Jeeze! At least you've found out what was causing it - albeit somewhat scarier sounding that a buildup of wax. Hope it goes away quickly fella and you're pain free soon!

Cheers. Funny though I have not had any pain for over a week now anyway it just comes and goes. I have had other symptoms with regards to the tumour like feeling tired, joint paint etc all which is linked to my Thyroid gland which is caused by my pituitary gland not working as it should. I have to go for a full scan now and also for a vision test just to make sure there is nothing else going on. If so I will need medication and regular check ups for 2 to 3 years until the tumour has dissolved. Not worried as the Doc I spoke to was 99% sure that is a straightforward growth

My god! Just goes to show how things can develop. Glad the prognosis is positive though.

Annoying thing is how often I hear about people with "little" problems getting fobbed off by a GP and have to fight to get the correct attention.

Again many thanks. To be fair to the GP's in this case I went to them with another problem which I did not mention on here which was the fact I have been feeling tired/Joint pain etc which was over and above my Ear blockage and they suspect it could be rheumatoid arthritis so they arranged a blood test straight away which showed up anomalies in Thyroxine levels which is what got me the Endocrinology appointment. The Ear problem has been a battle and was solved by having the appointment for the other problem which it appears are all connected. Complicated I know but that is how it went. So I cannot complain really but I do think as you say "little" problems to get dismissed rather too easily

Hope everything goes well for you In The Rough, but the most Important bit ! can you still play golf ? ;)

Cheers mate I am genuinely not concerned at all as the blood tests I have had done do not show anything other than a simple growth as well as what the Docs have said at the Hospital. Been struggling with fitness when playing golf due to this complaint but yes I can still play no problems:) apart from feeling totally knackered at the end of the round. 1 tablet first thing in the morning and that is all I have to take. Eat/Drink as normal no changes to my lifestyle at all which is good.
