Driving distances and handicap- be honest now!

Hi Darth,

It's a standard feature. There's a button that looks like a ruler on the top taskbar that I've circled red in the image below. You just click on where the tee was on that day and then click on the point where your ball ended up.

Cheers :)

Thanks SB I'll download that now.

So its total distance and not carry distance? - actually its the same thing all last year in parkland courses in Scotland-

Heheh, that's very true.

I measured total distance as I've no idea where each shot landed or how much roll I got. All I can recall is the vague position from where I played my 2nd shot.

@SB - just tried this using Google Earth and the first hole I did it on using where I drove to on Saturday which is where I usually hit it (bearing in mind my average drive length guess was 260yds) I got a ground length of 260.42 yds - honest - no fiddling to make it so. How utterly BIZARRE!!!!

Did the GoogleEarth thing for a few holes measuring where I usually end up. Gives an average of about 235 yds. Needed to do it on a range of holes to even out uphill/down hill shots and effect of prevailing winds.

i don't want to post on here until i have played with somebody on the forum who can verify, at the risk of getting flamed - i think i hit it a fair distance

i did read somewhere that that average distance for male club golfers was 197 yards

18/280 (although that 280 is rarely in the direction i want!)

And i would stress thats the average of my good drives. in the real world with the not so good ones, i would say the average is around 255/260.

Good for you.

(Am I missing something?)

Google earth was great fun

worked out some hazard distances on the course now, and I also see why I cant get near the par5 18th in 2 with my 4 wood

Anyway....
5 and 260yds

i do enjoy the odd forum fights

hmmm could i get away with saying i hit it 310?

i'd honestly say on average i hit it between 240-260 if i don't mis hit, and my handicap is 14....

im a little sceptical when people post there average distances unless i have seen them play,

forum fight? :p

Just measured on Google Earth. If I button one, it is around 265 yards. I'm off 10. I just wish I could button it and be accurate all the time!
