Distances effected by ball construction or temps?

oddsocks if you play the dx3, try the dx2. i play dx3 but a couple of weeks ago i played dx2. and i swear it was going 20 yards further with my driver. really impressed with it in the cold weather.

i used the DX2 last year in the winter before switching to DX3 in the summer, i can see a box of dx2 on the horizon.

My cold condition distance loses are just weird.

Cobra 2 hybrid 210 down to 200
Cobra 4 hybrid 185 down to 175
5 iron 175 down to 150
6 iron 160 down to 140
7 iron 145 down to 130
PW 110 down to 100

Do not understand it, I could do with a 5 hybrid to fill in the gap in the winter. Anyone else have this type of distance loss?

Most people would at least change their under garments between golf days, and possibly even wash (although clearly not all, as those in the north attest to), not just change their hat.

Everyone looses distance in cold weather as stated above with regard to temp affecting the ball.

Deal with it and move on. Come the summer all will be back to normal.

but on a serious note same amount of layers/thickness's.

Calloway jumper (grey thursday, blue monday)
Adidas T shirt (black thursday, white monday)
Thermal Vest (only come in black)
Same nike all weather trousers.

When trying to understand if different ball constructions are effected more by colder weather, this was a very helpful & precise reply.

It probably isn't as simple as 2 piece versus 3 and 4 piece, but would depend on the exact specifications of each material used in the construction, and what temperature v recovery rates the material has.

Back to trial and error to find what works.
