Disneyland Florida

some really great advice pouring forth, thanks chaps, Valentino and Smange you might regret offering advice as I'll be in touch with a zillion questions lol

With so many options I can see how you can get it wrong but through your experience I'm hoping to get it right first time, wee fella will be 6 when we go plus daddy hates rollercoasters so hopefully he can get on most of the other stuff with me and the mrs

If your not into roller-coasters and the wee man is only 6 your going to find only a handful of things to go on in the Universal Parks and if it were me I wouldnt spend the money on tickets for there and instead go to Legoland.

You will find that the Disney parks are far more suited to the younger ones with only a handful of "extreme" rides throughout all the Disney parks, add in the fact that you get entry to both Disney water parks which are both excellent.

First time we went our oldest was only 10 and youngest 5 and didnt go near Universal as didnt see the point.

Seaworld is good, Busch gardens is probably aimed more at older kids and extreme ride lovers..there are so many things to do away from the parks as well, you wont be stuck for something to do each day if you so wish

If you planning on golfing while there, use golfnow.com to get cheap tee times or ask in the numerous golf shops for any discount tickets they may have..Grand Cypress is a must play

I have also been a few times over the years from Budget to villa holidays and it can be as expensive or as cheap as you like.If you are doing to golf check out GOLF NOW.COM and if I can be of any help please get in touch.

DV I'm out there every two years and would recommend you stick to Disney as your main parks and book a two park deal for Universal,I normally use Orlando ticket deals and found them the cheapest, would also not go without being in a villa. It is just the 3 of us who go and it is not that much more to have a 3 bed villa off the HW192 than a hotel but you will enjoy it so much more.
With universal the wee fella will have to see Harry Potter and Spiderman at universal but other than those not much for him there, don't forget that you can use your Disney tickets at Disney Quest in downtown Disney it's amassive indoor interactive area with lots to keep the kids busy and some great restaurants there too.

Lots of great advice here, would also reccomend the dibb forum, I was there in may this year, daughters 6 & 2 at the time, favourite park for them was legoland, lots of smaller rides and no queues to speak of.

With a six year old I would stick with the disney parks plus Legoland plus Seaworld. Your lad will find it very exciting and very tiring. It can be hot and you will do a fair bit of walking.

im going in October still trying to work out the minefield of sorting out the park passes.why can't they just have one.....it would be alot easier.
