What a game we choose to play!

Played today (friendly knock up)

Front nine I was on fire, playing the best I'd ever done. Racked up 21 Stableford points which put me in a good position for the back nine.

Well, shall we say the wheels fell off big style. Played like a lemon, biggest flaw being my putting. Some nice two putts, but far too many 3, and dare I say it 4 putts!!!
At one point I had 3 goes at pitching onto the green from around 25 yards! Just kept thicking it - very frustrating.
Total result on back nine being just 7 points! Complete round score of 28 points! Totally gutted is not the word.

How can the front and back 9's play so differently?

Never been quite that extreme but I share your pain. 21 points in the stableford last week. Blew up on the back nine. Took 5 for a point on 17 and then hit my drive OB on 18. Parred it with the 2nd ball for a point but lost the division by a point - DOH!
