Decent pencil bag less than 50 quid??

You can tighten it but it kind of just loosens itself so it makes no difference.


Yeah I kind of had to hold onto the clubhead with one hand. Oh well, I might chuck something heavy-ish in the pocket and see if that helps. It was good otherwise, just the size I wanted and with a proper stand.

Also, of the 8 clubs I had in it, 6 were graphite-shafted, so that probably made the whole set-up more head-heavy than usual.

I’m strongly thinking of getting a pencil bag.

What’s the downsides and how many clubs do you think it will hold easily?

I am keen because of 1) space in cars etc when on holiday with lots of luggage etc and 2) for 9 holes in the evening


Could you play 18 holes with it, if you need 9 or 10 clubs?

It annoyed me too much so I sacked it off and got the Titleist Ryder Cup pencil bag they were flogging on County Golf. The weight balance being off was too irritating.

I’m now thinking of the Ping Moonlight…..which is north of approx £90….but if I’m spending that much, I am thinking I may as well get a stand bag that will have 12 clubs easily

I have a Titleist premium pencil, one with the double strap and two small almost stumps as legs to keep it slightly off the ground when lay down.
It’s genuinely one of the best bags I’ve ever had, only 1 divider but 14 clubs somehow fit comfortably, it just sits really good on the back and is super light even with the 14, balls, juice whatever else. For a pencil it’s 10/10, big main pocket for waterproofs or that, valuables pocket, a cooler pocket, a drinks holder and another front ball pocket, brolly holder. The difference I feel after 18 compared to a proper stand/carry bag is mad.

Can’t praise it enough.
