My only issue with the Titleist bags are the stupid rainhood design with a velcro fastener rather than zips. I have to contort myself to seal the rain hood!
I'm looking for another bag!

On the other hand, I think the hood is great, plenty of room and attaches really easily with a simple bit of velcro rather than having to zip and unzip.

To be honest, once the hood is on and it's raining, can't think I've ever had to actually use the velcro as the hood sits nicely in place over the clubheads.

I have to admit I don't use the rain cover often, I mainly use the sta dry towels over the top of the clubs and then have a brolly that covers the bag anyways

But how do you get a club out without undoing the velcro?

Don't need to, not sure why the final velcro would be done up in the first place?

With the 4 other velcro straps in place, there's no need to try and attach the final one underneath, the hood is perfectly secure without that.

I've only used that to secure it in a flight bag.

Oh. I'll give that a try Saturday then. Ta.

I've got the Big Max Hybrid bag - to be honest, I don't like it. It "sort of does" both jobs, but it's a bit heavy to carry all the time, is "quite" good on a trolley, but has 14 dividers which I find a bit of a pain and doesn't have overly generous storage.

I've picked up the Lynx waterproof stand bag in their sale and quite like it. It's lighter than the Big Max and seems OK on the trolley for the few times that I'll use it like that over winter. Might be worth checking out and I managed to get mine for under £100 using their new customer code that was on Facebook

Just goes to show we’re all different, I find the Big Max Hybrid to be very light for a 14 way bag. I lugged it round London (inc having to take the stairs at Vauxhall station 😬) travelling down to H4H in September and it was really easy.

Storage wise, 4 zipped pockets, ball pocket, drinks pocket, full length pocket thats, quite deep. For a stand bag that’s pretty decent compared to my old Ogio Vapor and Ozone bags.

Thanks for suggestions so far! The big max dri lite seems to fit the bill due to the price and storage, at 2kg it’s the lightest hybrid stand bag I’ve come across in my research.

The titleist options look good also, but a bit pricey for me, I’ll be keeping an eye on the prices over the January sales (if that’s still a thing!)

I also hated the Big Max bag. The stand was too stiff so you had to force it down to get the legs to go out properly. And the umbrella holder was stupidly situated on the underside with a flimsy string holding it on, so it would end up dangling down. Plus, as you say, I've since realised that a 5-way top is far easier and less faff than a 14-way.

another reason i went to the stadry was to go back from 14 way to 5 way.. the 14 way always seemed to end up with more than 1 club in the same divider which just ended up a mess.. the 5 way split with no more than 3 clubs per divider is perfect

Yeah, I used to think I preferred the 14-way as everything is laid out for you, but it becomes a faff trying to get the club in the right hole when you just want to chuck it in and get moving. When I got the Hydroflex, it had a 5-way which I wasn't sure I would like, but I have loved it. My driver, two woods and hybrid go in the bigger section at the top, then 6-7-8 in one slot, 9-P-A in the next one, 50-56-60 in bottom left and putter in bottom right. It's ideal.

There is actually less bag chatter and collisions when carrying too as the clubs are leaning against each other rather than all an inch or two apart from one another.
