Well got these in the post this morning and will be working my way through these books starting with the short game one.

I have a few books to read over next couple of months before next season

The short game bible helped in terms of learning three shots per wedge (PW, 52 and SW) with the 7.30, 9.00 and 11.00 o'clock swings although to be fair I found the very short 7.30 swing hard to master and kept hitting it fat or thin so tend not to use that on the course. These short swing shots are great when you are in between clubs and means you have more distance control and can vary the spin and trajectory to get nearer to difficult pins.

The putting book is quite technical but it is very good for the fundamentals and explains why a lot of short putts are missed (wrist breakdown, lumpy doughnuts - read the book to see what that is - shoulder motion etc)

I have to agree it does feel a little stiff and unwieldly to begin with trying to swing no further than the prescribed position which I think is why I struggle so much with the shortest swing but once you get the hang of it the 9.00 and 11.00 swings do become very natural and do give you more shots with each wedge increasing your armoury
