As pronounced in the famous film Snatch. :D

Anyhoooo im just wondering as there are so many people on this here Forum does anyone have or know anyone that has experience with the "French Mastiff" dog breed....Or better known as the Dogue de Bordeaux

For most of my adult life iv had Boxers and the one i have now hasnt a whole lot left in him....He's 14 yrs old this August...

I want a large dog but one that's Loyal and very good with kids. That has to be the main character of the dog as well as having a guarding nature...

Boxers for the most part fit this bill perfectly but it depends on what sort of a character they have..As anyone that has one will tell you they all have there own little character..Some of them would nearly help little Johnny Tea Leaf to break into a house..

From what iv read about French Mastiff's they seem to be a very Docile breed thats a great family dog and very protective..
As the area i live in has its fair share of Gobshites out till all hours nicking houses and cars and the like having that extra little bit of an intimidating presence about the home would serve as a deterrant...

A mate(ish) of mine has a sacking great mongrel and a mastif(Rab) and the stupid dag ;) is terrified of my springer lol. Next time I see him I can get more info if you want

jesus dave thats a bloody horse mate,my brother has just bought a french bulldog ,never heard of them before.

We saw a pup and thought it was cute as anything.

The owner asked what our dog did (by it's nature) to which our reply was "it rounds up sheep".

Not very impressive compared to a dog that takes on bears!
