Custom Fit

Hi everyone.. looking for some advice from those with expereince of custom fittings.

Recently I have been for two customs fitting with Benross and Cobra.

The Benross fitting came back with 1/2 inch shorter shaft and standard lie.

The Cobra fitting came back with 1/4 inch shorter and standard lie.

My question is, do you think 1/4 inch shorter shaft with Cobra would make a big difference from standard length.

Cobra is preffered choice but was thinking if I would get away with standard length.

Not sure 1/4" makes a heck of a lot of difference. You could always grip down a shade.

Out of interest, what clubs and why did you choose those two brands - they don't really sit in the same parts of the market.

Cobra is my favourite brand , so wanted to get fitted for them, as high Handicapper thought they would fit me for the MAX irons but it was F6 King irons.

Benross I got fitted at the Scottish Golf Show and had read lots of really positive reviews on the new HTX irons.

Thats the only reason I have picked those irons.

What is the standard length of the two clubs?

Cobra F6 is 37.25 inches & Benross 37 inches.

Its one of those things where you have been fitted to one degree or another and then decide to go your own way. With that being the case its kinda something you have to decide on.

The logical decision im. If you decided at a later date to have them cut down it might cost you £100 in new grips.

Depends on how they fit you. Was it wrist to floor measurement or your height?
