Cross country scramble

There is a few you cant extend, but thinking:-

1. 1st tee to 2nd green.

2. 3rd on its own.

3. 4th tee to 5th green (cant go down the 6th fairway, temp OOB);)

4. 6th tee to 7th green (must be about 850 yards) Par 6 or a par 7?

5. 8th tee to 10th green (need a draw, then a fade).

6. 11th tee to 12th green.

7. Just the 13th - easiest hole in one possible.

8. 14th tee to 16th green.

9. 17th tee to 18th green.

What dya reckon?

Can't use the 3rd on it's own, all should be mixed up😃

i don't know you course layout but it looks a bit like joining 2 holes together. You need a bit more crossing fairways and trees.

At Millbrook the over lander course is:

1. 1st tee to 13th green ( wrong way up 18th , over trees and across 7th, 6th and 5th fairways)

2. 14th tee to 17 th green. ( shortish over pond and trees)

3, 18th tee to 12 th green ( across 7th and 6th fairways and 5th green)

4. 13th tee to 10th green ( wrong ay up 12th crossing over 8th and blind shot over trees and down valley)

5. 10th forward tee to 8th green. ( across an up valley to 11th fairway then over pine trees to green)

6. 12th tee to 4th green ( wrong way up 8th crossing to 5th fairway and around trees)

7. 3rd tee to 16th green ( normal way down 3rd then dogleg down to green)

8. 17th tee to 15th green. (Blind short iron over 3rd green and 2nd tee)

9. 16th tee to 18th green. ( over wooded area to valley of 1st fairway, wrong way up 1st crossing to green)

With so many blind shots and crossing of fairways is it not stupidly dangerous?
No it's not. Blind shots are not crossing other holes except one but as we are playing in groups of eight (4balls) There are partners on hand to look out on that hole. Crossing fairways are OK as can easily see other players, no worse than normal!!

edit. Also as in groups of eight and long holes we don't catch up with group infront. Shotgun start too so evenly spaced.

We have a couple of fun comps of this type.

During the Christmas Break, its a 9 hole comp playing the course backwards until you get to the 12 green playing back towards the clubhouse and fiinishing on final green which is the practice putting green.

And 4 hole comp one afternoon, playing 1st to the 5th as one hole 6th Tee to the 9th green. Then 10th to the 13th then 16th to 18th...

Most fun I have had in golf was playing the Old Course at St Andrews backwards (1st tee to 17th green etc) Believe me that felt like it was cross country.... They do this for 3 days every year at the beginning of April as it is the way the course was originally played in the 17 hundreds...

Years back at one of the Crown 9-hole courses, the committee organised a reverse course game, 1st tee to 8th green, 9th tee to 7th green etc. It was all going well until the pro shop let two groups out playing normally. It was carnage. Bloody funny for those who only heard about it afterwards though!

I played in one at Pyrford which was both insane and fantastic at the same time. Until you've played a 700 yard par-six in and out of the driving range, you really haven't lived. But you need two decent players in your scramble team to have any kind of a chance.

I'm down at Pyrford in a fortnight but I don't think we're be enjoying the delights in and out of the range you describe. Mind you it might feel like a 700 yard hole the way I'm playing. I mentioned this to the captain yesterday, and it's something they think work as it's been a while, perhaps for the last social nine hole event of the summer.

Course is closed so only people playing the comp are on it. It was opened as the last few groups was coming down the finishing holes well away from beginning of he course.
Some shots are blind but most are safe enough so long as your not to wayward bit like normal golf.
We had a couple shouts of fore mostly due to wild shots.

Some holes you had a choice of your route on which fairway to take or whether to go over massive trees if feeling brave.
Shortest hole was a flop shot over a bush down onto the 17th green from 16th tees which was also one of the most difficult.
