Hi,

I am looking for a good value course to play next Friday around the Fife area, courses I am considering so far is:

Ladybank
Lundin Links
Scotscraig
St Andrews Kittocks
St Andrews Torrance

Basically I am looking for somewhere less than £50 so it rules out alot of courses in that area, the above all seem to be good value especially for October

Firstly which is the preferred between Ladybank, Lundin and Scotscraig, also which is better between Kittocks and Torrance?

Any other courses I should consider?, for this round I dont really want to play a pure links as I am using it for practice for St Andrews Dukes on the weekend which is a kind of parkland/heathland mix.

Many thanks in advance

ladybank and lundin links are both cracking courses. not played any of the others. i'd scrap the dukes and play a couple from your substitute list

Ladybank is a nice heathland course Andy, and being inland a good bet if it is blowing a hoolie on the coast.;) It is like a Surrey course.

Lundin Links would be my choice, from recommendations and having had a meal overlooking the course. It looked stunning and I know you like your links golf.

Andy, I had a look for you yesterday but forgot to get back to you. My recommendation would be Ladybank, as you say they are doing some good deals just now

This depends where in Fife you will be. All of those courses are good options but I would consider Aberdour also for the views and layout of the course. Not overly challenging though. If you are St Andrews based this may be a bit far to travel when you will be driving past good courses.

There is also a nine holer that you can play and hire hickory shafted clubs and old equipment.

All good courses, to be fair. Thought I'd just put in a good word for Scotscraig. Nice course, heathland/parkland mix... a wee bit linksy in places.
