On the back of a Talksport poll this afternoon that went by the same name as the thread title, could you?

If you took the title literally, yes we could all live without golf but would you want to live without golf in your life?

At present I would say that my life would be pretty empty (mainly due to a boring job) without the thought of being able to get the clubs out at the weekend and more often in the summer.

Last I heard on the TS poll was that there were over 2,000 votes and 30% said that they could not live without golf.

I would only stop if I physically couldnt do it any more

This then begs the question what else could I do , Bowls springs to mind
or dominoes or macrame :)

No

Today is a classic example of why. Heightened excitement as Fiddle day so chance to catch up with mates and the latest gossip. Then the banter as the draw is made, introduced Adasko from here into ours today. Out to tee off and again more banter on the first, your turn and off we go 18 holes of delight and frustration in equal measures. Come in to hear the silly scores that are leading, share stories and cups of tea/beer for Adasko to come in with 46 points and take the spolis on his first visit.

Nope, cant beat days like these.:)

Yes, did so successfully for 52 before I started to play. It's a great game, but I have other things to do that are interesting as well.

Absolutely, it would free up loads of time to do all the things I haven't got time for at the moment!

Love golf, though, don't have any plans to quit.

Yes I could. I have no plans to, but I could.

As FD says, it would free up plenty of time do do all the stuff I currently don't get round to doing.

So please don't tell the Mrs.....

Absolutely if I had to.... see it as a privilege the fact I get to play the great game where as there are other people not fortunate enough to be able to

I could not live without a main sporting hobby, in my case it just happens to be golf.

People who don't play can live without it, 100%. People who do may not be able to.

The 30% value means nothing as I don't know anything about the population it is derrived from, are they golfers, non-golfers, club members, non club members? Too many unknowns to take any meaning from it.

I'm not sure I could, not up here anyway. We are spoilt for quality courses and Nairn gets better weather than most of the rest of Scotland .
Still shoot from time to time, but always takes a day or two to arrange. Not like that with golf. I,m also lucky in that my job allows me to play when I like with in reason..😁
