Whats everyone opinion on golf vlogs on Youtube? All i ever see is clickbait headers to basically get you clicking the bring their view counter up. I understand its the name of the game but i find it beyond frustrating and i instantly refuse to click on it if its so much as a hint of click bait. Rick Sheils is literally the WORST for it, he has clickbait headers in pretty much every single video he has uploaded over the last year. I just want honest headlines without the crap of trying to draw you in

I don't think its an accusation you can solely lay just at the golf youtube community but it is something I've always been acutely aware of when doing my own videos and tried where possible to avoid doing it and prefer to call a video something basic and leave it up to the viewer to watch. That said I'm not reliant like Shiels, Crossfield and the others for the viewers and the youtube revenue. It is annoying, and to a degree lazy, but they know how to play the game. If you click and the video doesn't grab your attention or entertain don't watch.

I generally enjoy Rick Shiels and Crossfield. The titles of the videos don’t really bother me, at the end of the day they are out there to get views and likes.

I find Shiels a bit hit and miss but have enjoyed some of the Crossfield content recently. Use to like Peter Finch but somehow since he gave up (lost/didn't renew or whatever) his TM/Adidas contract his stuff seems a bit flat. I think they all go through peaks and troughs though

Russell heritage is the worst. Every daily video is “this secret tip will improve your ball striking”.
Crossfield has been doing more clickbait titles of late and makes me watch him less.

You do realise that Youtubers get paid for the number of clicks (views)? Of course they are going to do everything they can to get more people to click on their content.

Not going to get many views by saying its another review of a club that does the same thing as the last 5 models. It's a business so don't blame them, obviously working for Mr Shiels.

I find Shields the worst these days. However, it works for him. HE went from an above average YouTube in terms of subscribers to the top, didn't he? Or at least close to it.

Crossfield and Robinson have changed their tile style and still images a bit recently, but I don't think they are click bating yet. Or I just don't notice it because I like their videos more (currently)

At the moment youtube is fairly one sided anyway because all of them are reviewing all the new drivers, and I don't care much about gear reviews or 'in the bag' videos. Play and entertain me, I don't care what you hit as long as you hit it well.

Yes.. why on earth would they give it a title that makes you want to click on it? What are they thinking? Would you rather he put titles like "I play golf again, with another person" or "I play golf again, on my own this time"? Would anyone click on them then? Would be a waste of time making the videos if you can't get people to open them.

I think you’re being unfair here. There is a happy medium. Take Crossfields recent videos as an example.

Posted one a day ago with the title “how to practice like Seve”. Now you’d think the video would be full of tips on how Seve used to practice. But no, it was Crossfield and Dan hitting balls onto a par 3 green where Seve supposedly practiced. To me thats clickbait. And the title could have been more appropriate.

Look through his recent videos and you’ll see others with misleading titles.

Yeah, I get it, but the alternative is he titles the video "Me and Dan hitting some balls at a green". Obviously they want people to click on the videos.

I get why they do it and of course it is to lure you in. However there are some that post a click bait that bears little resemblance to the content. That annoys me
