Caveat this by saying I have just changed every iron inc wedges from 4 down but....
for my old clubs, 7i was my anchor point decent swing in normal conditions was 160yds, one club lower = roughly 10 yds e.g. 8 iron = 150yds and vice versa
I do this first then factor in wind, slope etc.
I did wedge yardages last summer in a lesson from fairway into green with a laser so I had rough yardages for 1/4 1/2 and 3/4 swings with 3 wedges (i.e. 9 distances) = these i had on a card in my scorecard holder
I plan this winter to do iron yardages for my new pings on GC2 and somehow re-do my wedge yardages with new clevelands
