Club Yardages

I printed them on a small card and laminated it full swing and half swing. Then change it slightly depending on how well I'm hitting. If I now a distance is at my best and I'm not hitting well I go down a club

Done through a couple of methods. Initially done with my Skycaddy and taking average distances and then had a session on a launch monitor. I have the "average" in my mind but have them inside a score card holder although in truth haven't referred to it for many months.

My perfect club yardages are based on the fact that on a perfectly flat calm day, during the perfect summer, with a perfect lie and a perfect strike and perfect level ground I can hit my 7 iron 150 yards perfectly.
:mad:

You ain't got a diddly squat idea then :smirk:

I did a session on a GC2. I hit several shots right through the bag and we deleted the truly awful shots and the perfect ones to leave the decent average ones. I then wrote a card out listing every club, giving the average carry distance and roll out, this then acts as a base for decision making. I will Bushnell the yardage and decide which club goes the distance and then add or subtract for weather conditions, gradient etc etc, in the summer I usually play to the roll out distance and in the winter, because of the cold weather and lack of run I usually assume that the carry distance = roll out.

Sounds complex but isn't at all

Im surprised no one has suggested this;

Take your once in a lifetime hit, down wind, downhill.... call that your average ...Bingo

I'll just have a look at what the nearest course distance marker says; adjust for where I am; think of a club; then go with what my body tells me.

I ask santa for lessons each year, and have them Jan to March.
I then have a gap testing each year - around end of March and then write the yardages down and have them in my scorecard holder
I then club up/down in relation to on course conditions.
I have my distances written on my wedges as I have a distance for 1/2 swing, 3/4 swing and full swing.
