Not a thrower. Remember slapping the driver head onto the ground a few times after a poor shot but that's been my limit

I’ve seen plenty people doing hefty damage to a teeing area with a club.Not following you, slapping the head onto the ground as I watch my drive slice OOB has zero physical affect on any other player & way less (none really) psychological affect on them when compared to hurling a club into a tree, maybe I explained it poorly

Yeah, I know somebody who has done that (in anger), rather costly,Oh and I once threw a wedge at my bag (not in anger, but absent mindedly) breaking my smartphone that was in a pocket....![]()
This is me…my throws are more a gentle and casual chuck out of frustration - and I’m a bit surprised that almost half of our respondents haven’t even done that…I was angrier when I was younger, but certainly still get my moments of frustration and despair. Especially when you hit the shot fat at least a dozen times a round, there is only so much a man can take. If I have thrown my club, I've never done it in an instant red mist, it is more of a casual fling towards my bag. So, I've never instantly thrown it in any given direction around me, and put bystanders at risk. I've played with a few golfers over the years who do throw the club, with force, in any random direction, and seen it narrowly miss other golfers.
Played with a chap once who hurled his driver high and to the left of the tee box. It got stuck about 30 foot high in a tree, and he couldn't get it back.
Played with another guy who slammed his 3 wood against his bag, and the head fell off. He threw the head into the trees and walked down the fairway. Halfway down the fairway, he remember he had insurance, and so sprinted back to find the head.
Yeah, I've known the most mild mannered of people throw a club in gentle frustration before.This is me…my throws are more a gentle and casual chuck out of frustration - and I’m a bit surprised that almost half of our respondents haven’t even done that…![]()
I think it's the frustration of golf rather than the importance of it. Professionally I wouldn't get angry and could remain calm .I think it’s terrible to see the guys on tour do it but at least it’s understandable to an extent the pressure they’re playing under, especially guys out there playing for their cards/livelihoods. Not someone playing their Wednesday medal at their club or their mates for a fiver. Bonkers.
I am shocked…shocked I tell you…that so few from time to time chuck their club to their bag in frustration at a rubbish shot …there was me thinking that everyone did it..I must examine my behaviour…Yeah, I've known the most mild mannered of people throw a club in gentle frustration before.
So, when almost half the people in this forum say they have not, despite many spending hours debating and arguing about things like how much they hate certain golfers, which footballers they want to punch or prepared to start WW3 due to their hatred of WHS or LIV, then it shocks me that so few clubs have been thrown by these people![]()
@Imurg told me once
"The first rule of club chucking is to always chuck it in the direction of travel"
So you dont have to divert to pick it up
I can witness that he follows his own advice on a regular basis![]()
